Quatermass, did you know that your title is also a lyric from a Nirvana song?

No. I just put that in because it is what Lord Vetinari says in the Discworld children's book Where's My Cow?

Oh, I figured it wasn't for the song. It's a really hideous song, even if the lyrics are bleakly poetic.

You should read it to your kids. Just edit out Foul Ole Ron's bit. Otherwise, it's fine.

Hurrah! For whatever reason, my inept local library system has eight copies of this book and one is now reserved for me!

But I only have one child. :P Unless you're counting my little charges as well.

I finally got caught up on this thread. It sucks when I have to be away for 24 hours. Nice pictures Gwenie. Assuming that is your son, he is cute. Kids rule!

Seriously, find a way to cut out Foul Ole Ron's "Buggrit, millenium hand and shrimp." I'd read it carefully before reading it to your kids, just in case....

No, but you don't want to end up in the same situation as Vimes does when his wife hears his baby son going 'buggrit'!

Heh!

We already had a little vocabulary incident, as he was learning the words and hand signs for certain creatures. His pronunciation for "frog" and "crab" were a bit off at first, so he appeared to be swearing like a sailor every time he spotted one. Such as in the middle of my brother's birthday party with extended family and friends all around. "Wow! Oh goodness. A f--k!"

You were permitted to win for over 50 minutes. This is unacceptable.
