Just great.

Now I visualize a cross between Amber Rose pole-dancing and Moomintroll in a leotard pirouetting.

:?

I had to look up Amber Rose. I have never heard of this person. Sorry if you have bad images Sylkat, but the video looks prettier than that.

At least I didn't welcome you back with rotten fish and giant scary crabs, unlike some people.

Who was singing in Skikhtorova's video?

Lara Fabian. The song is called 'Je suis malade'. Did you like it? I'm fond of foreign language songs myself (especially French), and that one is beautiful. :)

Enya is a little too high pitched for my ears, unfortunately.

*Googling the others now*

In Italian I like Andrea Bocelli and Luigi Tenco and in French Edith Piaf, and Carla Bruni also did some nice ones.

My favourite French song probably has to be this:

And Italian it is definitely this:

(Edited because I forgot to put Luigi Tenco's name in)

YouTube Sandy Denny...my two favorites are 'Who Knows Where The Time Goes' and 'I'll Keep It With Mine'.

She had a short life, has been gone ten more years than she was alive.....such a stunning talent!

And what are we left with?

Miley Cyrus and Brittney Spears?

I may have to lie down now.

Sounds like the cat in question is Scandinavian and wants to share a Hakkarl-like delicacy.

Wow pole dancing! I?ve never tried it, it looks so physically demanding and I?m worried I?d fall and hurt myself. :D I did stripdance last year which was pretty physically intense too, but the worst I got from that was a bruise on my shoulder and another on my hip. But I really liked it! I also enjoy Zumba, but I?m not sure if I count that as one of my dancing hobbies, because I guess it?s so much like just an aerobics class? And this year I started Bachata which is a lot of fun too. :)

Moomingirl do you like Indila? She?s amazing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5KAc5CoCuk

Some of the other French artists/bands I like are these ones:

Amel Bent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y994UfwAYp4

Zaho: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZz8r8ZE93I

Maître Gims: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_rEHfLgdcY

Kyo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aU_TQcyGkvY

Jenifer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixMY1jiiLSs

Stromae: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiKj0Z_Xnjc

Berry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mdak04rzMRs

I haven?t read that many thrillers, but I used to like Ruth Rendell quite a bit. I like fantasy for example the Hitch Hiker?s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams and the Disc World series by Terry Pratchett is absolutely amazing, I?ve read all of the books from the Discworld series except for the last one which I?m hoping to buy sometime soon though. But I guess I like classical/philosophical books most. Here are a few examples of the kinds of books I?ve liked (all genres included). They?re not in any particular order, just some of the books that have really changed how I see or think about certain things. Or have moved me to my core or have been hilarious or just incredibly beautifully written.

1. ?To Kill a Mockingbird? Harper Lee
2. ?Beloved? Toni Morrison
3. ?On the Geneology of Morality? Friedrich Nietzsche
4. ?Never Let Me Go? Kazuo Ishiguro
5. ?The Picture of Dorian Gray? Oscar Wilde
6. ?Of Mice and Men? John Steinbeck
7. ?The Book Thief? Markus Zusak
8. ?1984? George Orwell
9. ?Norwegian Wood? Haruki Murakami
10. ?Mere Christianity? C.S. Lewis
11. ?Blindness? José Saramago
12. ?Middlesex? Jeffrey Eugenides
13. ?The Kite Runner? Khaled Hosseini
14. ?The Story of My Life? Helen Keller
15. ?Darkness at Noon? Arthur Koestler
16. ?Atonement? Ian McEwan
17. ?Tuesdays With Morrie? Mitch Albom
18. ?The Fall? Albert Camus
19. ?The Heart is a Lonely Hunter? Carson McCullers
20. ?Birdsong? Sebastian Faulkes
21. ?Jäniksen Vuosi? Arto Paasilinna (when you feel confident reading in Finnish you could try this one in Finnish)

But obviously there are so many more!

And yes please post some pictures of them! :)

You must, really must, read 'Good Omens' by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett!

Hysterical!

I?ve thought about reading Good Omens so many times. But I?m worried because it?s written in collaboration with Gaiman that maybe it?s not going to be as good as the discworld books? Each time, the fear that I might be disappointed in something written by Pratchett, keeps me from purchasing it. :|

If you're referring to this Swedish delicacy, surströmming, it is not rotten. It is seasoned. (And it smells so bad that if you open a can indoors, your wallpapers drop off and dead flies pile up on the floor.)

Surstromming was invented by Unhygienix, the fishmonger from the Gaulish village where Asterix lived...
