Stange...even though you posted today, this thread came upas one I'd already read, with the last post being on Friday...

On the day of death loud sounds were heard,
As though the cabin itself mourned for thirty-six.
Crashing like a giant bird,
Nothing more could be done the condition to fix.

All details could happen outside
Of this little tale of those who died.
Dead beasts and birds were not involved,
Will this puzzle at last be solved?

How about this - the cabin was struck by lightning and being crowded in such proximity the deafening flash spread from one to the other in a split second, causing instant electrocution!

Cabin was mentioned,
And not completely true:
Bow knot or long-bow.

OK its the cabin of a ship! A tsunami swept the ship against a mountain and those aboard were all smashed to pieces!

They died because their minds exploded from trying to solve this riddle?

A ship? Now you approach the solution,
