There once was a man who used the elevators on a building on rainy days and took the stairs on sunny days. Why is this?

Well, on sunny days the elevator cables were expanded due to excessive heat wave, so the elevator didn't work.

Probably not by that much, unless the elevator was intended to break under such conditions.
