“I’ll stay,” Koise said, “I know how to take care of her.”
“No way!” Scythe said, “I want to go with the others! Much more interesting things to do with them than just sitting around babysitting.”
“Yeah, well someone has to look after her!” Koise said
“Why the hell’d we bring her along in the first place if all she does is tag along and slows us down?!”
There was a pause. “Yeah, why did we?” Booger asked.
“Well you see,” Koise started, “Kipo’s run away from her home, and she would have nowhere else to go if we just left her.”
“Couldn’t we give her to someone else then?” Scythe asked
“Like who?”
Scythe was silent.
“Logic prevails, Kipo’s staying.” Bob said.
“Okay, but I still don’t want to look after her, I’d be bored to tears.” Koise had a feeling that didn’t happen very often.
“I can’t think of a workaround…” Bob said. “Well if Scythe doesn’t want to, who will?”
None of the others really wanted to stay behind and look after Kipo. After her screaming performance in the water, they were cautious and, although very slight, a bit afraid of her. While she was very introverted and kept to herself, Kipo still had a sense of unpredictability about her.
Several minutes passed by and still no result. Kipo was silent now, but she still very disorientated about things. Finally, Marilyn decided on a ‘fair’ way to choose who should go: ask Kipo.
“Kipo?” Marilyn asked kindly.
“Yes?” Kipo’s voice was quiet and distant.
“One of us has to stay behind and look after you. Who would you like to stay behind?”
Kipo was going to say Koise, but he was sharing Scythe’s body, and she didn’t like Scythe very much. Because of the state she was in, she didn’t have the willpower to open her mouth to explain this to them.
“You can’t choose Koise or Scythe because Scythe doesn’t want to stay here.” Marilyn added. Kipo was thankful for this convenience. She looked at the other members of the group, but she did not feel as if she would like them to stay, and that was because she did not know them very well, even Marilyn. Kipo, like before, did what she always did when faced with indecision: she didn’t say anything at all.
“Kipo?” Marilyn asked after about 15 seconds.
“Yes?”
“Who do you want to stay behind?”
And Kipo still kept silent.
“She takes ages, eh?” Booger whispered to Bob.
“Shhh!” he replied.
And then an idea struck Kipo, albeit it took a further 20 seconds for her to notice it.
“What if Koise and Scythe separated, and Koise came back?” Kipo asked.
The logic was so simple. Even Bob was surprised that he hadn’t thought of it.
“Well,” he said, “if it doesn’t take too long, which it shouldn’t, then I guess it would be okay. Still, someone has to stay behind.”
Kipo felt annoyed, but didn’t look it. She was counting on that to have her stay behind alone, which would be her option of choice, but because Marilyn didn’t offer it to her, she didn’t see it as being allowed.
“Well, at least it’ll be for a shorter period of time!” Marilyn said.
“Argh, I’ll stay!” Booger said, frustrated at how things were developing in this situation.
“Oh, uhm, okay then, Booger, you’ll stay here then…” Marilyn thought that it was a good, if abrupt, solution to the problem.
“Well, we’d better get going.” Koise said. “I’ll get back to you as soon as I can, alright?”
“Okay then.” Booger said. As the others left down the corridor, Booger then realized a problem: How was he supposed to entertain himself?
Who do we follow?
A) Booger and Kipo
B) Koise/Scythe, Marilyn and Bob
I'm a sly one, aren't I?

But then I found
That I could speak to her,
In a way
And sadness turned to comfort
We all go there
