If 'Speed' and 'Silence' are your two pet goldfish, we would need to watch them swim in order to estimate their speed.

Hot Wheels movie? I didn't know they made a movie.
They made 4 short Hot Wheels movies, all 60 minutes long (Hot Wheels: AcceleRacers – Ignition, Hot Wheels: AcceleRacers – The Speed of Silence, Hot Wheels: AcceleRacers – Breaking Point, and Hot Wheels: AcceleRacers – The Ultimate Race), and Hot Wheels World Race (110 minutes).

wish I'd have kept mine, I understand the 1960s originals are worth some coin now.

I had a lot of toy cars when I was a kid. They were as popular for me as my plushies were. I think most were from Mattel, IIRC. Anyway, I loved playing with those cars. In 2003 I gave almost all of them to my cousin's kids. I have regretted it since. I don't care if it makes me sound like a big kid, I miss my cars. I wish I still had at least those of them that were most special to me. Not for the value of them, I doubt they have any, but for their affection value.

Glad I'm not the only big kid around :) I know that her youngest really liked them at the time, and I'm happy about that, but I still wish I hadn't given away 3 cars in particular (one that was the same model as my mother's car at the time and that I had put a sticker on from my father's work place at the time; and two garbage trucks with moving parts, one big and one littler, in my mind they were mother and child).
Well, at least I have my fave car still. It's a huge truck, the cab of the truck is red and the truck body is blue and large enough for me to sit in when I was 3-4 years. I had a rope attached to it and would take it along on trips, once in a while I even got someone to pull the rope with me onboard, which of course was a great treat for a little kid!

in a sort of "rosebud" thing, when I was a toddler my parents gave me a toy pedal car for my birthday, and I loved that thing but every time I'd get in it my sadistic oldest brother would reach down and honk the horn which was DEAFENING and made me jump out and run in fear, so my parents thought I was afraid of the car so they sent it back. :x ever since then I've longed for that car. :|

:( I'm sorry you lost your car, auntblabby. If you loved playing with it, I think it's strange that your parents thought you were afraid of it. It wouldn't make sense for you to seek it out in the first place if you were. At least I didn't seek out things I found scary on my own. Pedal cars were fun, I actually had one from Kettler. It was red. (Yes, I liked cars a lot, it was even one of the first words I said).
My favorite toys were the red and blue truck I mentioned, a specific doll, a long limbed teddy bear (like a human, with bear head and limbs) and a plush seal.
Which toys were your favorites? I hope you don't mind this topic, I'm a sucker for nostalgia :)

my NT parents could not conceive of the possibility that the noise bothered me. they only could observe that I ran in freight when I was in the car and my older brother immediately would honk the horn. that was my fave toy. it was red also.

all my life I have been trying to make it up to myself in various ways. I guess that is sorta why I call it my rosebud moment, even though I am nothing like the protagonist of citizen kane.

I hope so. She was on here earlier today, posting about the weather.

It's been really cold here, with temperatures as cold as - 18 C (-0.4 F). Right now it's - 2 C (28.4 F). The indoors temperature stays between 18 and 19 C (64.4 - 66.2 F), which gets cold when one mostly sits still. I have a fleece blanket around me right now and my fingers are cold.

How's the weather treating your area, Kyle?
