I will apply extreme pressure and make iodinemonoxide concentrate. I predict it will look like dark blue mud.

Actually, it's purple. And, shockingly, iodine monoxide really does exist as a free radical that destroys the ozone.

Were do you find such a toxic and nasty compound / free radical as that? As a maunfactured product or by-product? Hopefully there's not too much of it around...

It's actually the result of the reaction between iodine and ozone - they react to form IO and oxygen. Don't worry, though - it's unstable and tends to react with other things fairly quickly.

Thanks Krabo, I'm still learning how to do links as well as post pics, by trial and error - have interesting pics to post and actually managed one yesterday but I should have resized - it was too small! Practice makes perfect.

Guess you can do it in your sleep already...
