Donald Trump is the forty-fifth president of the United States, but the forty-forth individual president. This is because another president, Grover Cleveland, was both the twenty-second and the twenty-fourth president. Benjamin Harrison succeeded Cleveland in 1889 and became the twenty-third president, and four years later Cleveland succeeded Harrison.

For some damned reason I cant post still photos on this site anymore!! !!

Anyway...

Yes, both of those two POTUS were accomplished pianists.

And there is a famous photograph of Harry Truman at a shindig at the National Press Club playing a big upright piano while the young Lauren Bacall is lying across the top of the piano showing the camera some leg while studying the president's finger work on the ivories.

I hafta use explorer to post images or post anything at all. edge rather sucks big wind IMHO. :| and it is interesting about the circumstances of that Truman piano player pic, he likened himself to a "wh*rehouse piano player" in an early interview.

Never even heard of "Edge".

I use Explorer, and occasionally Google Chrome. Never had a problem posting stills here on WP until only a week ago. Can still post videos.
…….

Interesting that Truman said that. He was known for being rather earthy and blunt. And it looks from the picture that he and Becall could have been staging that very thing for laughs (he being the bordello piano player, and she being one of the working girls on display). :)

Edge comes bundled with windows 10 and defaults to it. because they knew it was buggy they left in Explorer as an alternate browser. I think you're right about the staged photo. he was a Midwesterner but not straightlaced.

Hmmm... I am on Windows Ten, but I always click one of the "e" things when I surf the Web, except when I sometimes click chrome.

Actually … apparently I hafta use Explorer for this site. It doesn't let me log in when I use Chrome.

Out of habit I use Explore and I don't even hafta log in on WP. But when I try to get here on Chrome, either I am entering my password wrong, or the site just doesn't like me when I use Chrome.

HELP!! !

Double check your password in Edge https://www.intowindows.com/how-to-view ... indows-10/

then copy it to your clipboard and post it when chrome is open , if it doesn't work you know it's not a password issue

Chrome can remember your passwords

The inventor of rolled toilet paper filed an original patent in 1891 that included illustrations of the paper hanging OVER the roll, not under it.

rescue from the belly of obscure threads

from the song by 'lord kitchener', to dad's army: general lord kitchener,
Field Marshal Horatio Herbert Kitchener, 1st Earl Kitchener, 24 June 1850 – 5 June 1916), was a senior British Army officer and colonial administrator who won notoriety for his imperial campaigns, most especially his scorched earth policy against the Boers and his establishment of concentration camps during the Second Boer War, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbert_K ... _Kitchener

At this stage of his career Kitchener was keen to exploit the press, cultivating G. W. Steevens of the Daily Mail who wrote a book: With Kitchener to Khartum. Later, as his legend had grown, he was able to be rude to the press, on one occasion in the Second Boer War bellowing: "Get out of my way, you drunken swabs".

TRIGGER WARNING

On 20 December 1989 (29 years ago today), 12-year-old Elisabeth Brichet disappeared without a trace on her way home from a friend's house in Namur, southern Belgium. Her case baffled police for years. In 1996, suspicions arose that she had fallen victim to Marc Dutroux, who made international headlines in the summer of that year when two other missing girls were found imprisoned in his basement and the bodies of four other missing girls were found buried on properties he owned. Elisabeth's mother organised a protest march, known as the White March, in which over 300,000 people took part in Brussels on 20 October 1996, protesting against the flawed police system which resulted in the avoidable deaths of Julie Lejeune, Melissa Russo, An Marchal and Eefje Lambrecks. Elisabeth's disappearance remained unsolved until 2004, when Michel Fourniret, a French expatriate arrested the previous year for an attempted kidnapping, and his then-wife Monique Olivier, confessed to kidnapping, abusing and strangling her. One of at least eight victims of the couple, Elisabeth's remains were found buried in the yard of a chateau in northern France, about 70 miles from where she went missing fourteen-and-a-half years earlier.

24 frames per second was chosen as a final 35mm film projection rate because it was the minimum speed necessary for the soundtrack to have a usable frequency response and noise level.

Axolotls do actually have teeth, though they look as if they don’t.
