Thanks!

I actually haven't advanced much with the story, but I'll finish it up and post the next section soon.

C, Koise should do what he does best and let the rest of the world take care of it's self.

Strangers are always taking shots.

“Flitch!” Koise yelled in frustration, giving Kipo a fright. “How am I supposed to do this?!”
“I do no-” Kipo started, but then of course she realized it was another rhetorical question. Koise stared at her wondering why the heck she wouldn’t finish, but he realized that she was about to answer the question. He sighed.
“Sorry.” He said.
“Why?” Kipo asked.
“I was about to yell at you for not finishing your sentence.”
“Oh.”
Kipo, along with Koise (although not on purpose), started examining the mechanisms and where the switches were, as well as the walls. She then saw that there was a possible route along the entirety of the cracked walls and shafts and gears that would lead Koise to get to all of the switches and back to the bottom. But she felt nervous around Koise. Not on purpose, but she generally felt nervous around people she doesn’t know too well, which is why she didn’t voice her idea straight away.

Koise continued to scan the room for a way. Normally he would have been able to find a way, but his annoyance at having low batteries for the Swingwhip coupled with the fact that he was taking so long in the first place meant that he couldn’t see Kipo’s solution.

Koise yelled in frustration and slumped himself on the floor.
“Frickin hell!” he said. “Why does this have to be so difficult?!”
Once again Kipo felt the urge to answer, but quickly realized it was another rhetorical question. Koise breathed deepely, trying to calm himself.
“You don’t happen to have any ideas, do you Kipo?” No reply. Koise sat up and said “Kipo?” He could tell by the look on Kipo’s face that she was nervous. He got up and walked over to her. “Hey, Kipo,” he started kindly, “What’s wrong?”
Kipo’s face remained nervous.
“You okay?”
“Yeah…”
“You don’t look that way.”
“Mhmm…”
“Do you know a way for me to get to the switches?”
“…yes…” Kipo said, distantly.
There was a short pause before Koise asked “Did I scare you?”
“Yes.” Kipo said, sadly.
“I’m sorry.” Koise apologized, “I just get frustrated sometimes. I’ll try and not do it again.”
“Okay.”
“Do you feel like telling me how to get to the switches?” Koise put on his kindest tone for this.
“Okay.”
“So how do I?”
“You will have to start at that crack over there.” Kipo pointed to a large lightning-like crack in the side of the wall in front of her.
“Okay. Will you guide me along?”
“Okay.”
And so Koise walked over to the crack and began climbing up it. He knew this would be a tough climb. He made his way up by applying pressure on the sides of the crack walls with his arms and legs, and carefully moving his way up as if he was using a strange alien ladder. As he reached the top, about 6 or 7 metres up, he was able to climb the sides like a rockface. He saw one of the cogs directly across from him, and he leapt for it. He nearly slipped off, but was able to grab hold. He got to the top of the cog and called out to Kipo.
“Okay, where do I go next?!”
“Go across the beam of the gear you are occupying and climb the rope of the pulley!” Kipo replied.
“Okay, I’ on my way!” Their voices echoed around the room. Koise balanced himself over the beam of the gear, using his staff as an aid, and stopped. Another leap had him on the rope. Glancing up, he saw the pulley wheel at the top, and below him, the two weights. And idea struck him, and he attached the Fire Crystal and burnt through the rope below him. However, as soon as he did this, he realized his mistake.
“Kipo, look out!!” he yelled, and the first weight made a loud smash onto the floor. At the same time, the other weight pulled Koise up to the top of the pulley, where Koise, quickly spotting one of the switches, leapt off and grabbed it. As the first switch pulled down from the wall, the second weight also met with the ground.
“Kipo, are you okay?!”
No answer.
“Kipo?!”
Still nothing.

Koise got worried. If she wasn’t replying, she would either be in a state of shock, unconscious, or dead. Not only that, but either of those scenarios meant that he would have to continue along on his own.
“Kipo?!” he called again.
No reply. Koise looked around on the floor below and saw Kipo crouched onto the floor, her arms over her neck. Koise breathed a sigh of relief. An idea then struck Koise’s mind.
“Kipo?” he called. “Kipo, it’s alright, I’ve got an idea!”
Kipo did nothing.
“Kipo, sway from side to side a little bit if you are listening!”
Kipo swayed from side to side.
“Good! Now Kipo, I’m going to drop that bracelet down to you! Put it on, and I’ll tell you what to do next! Okay?”
Kipo swayed again.
“Okay, I’m dropping it now!”
Koise took off the bracelet from his arm, and let it go. It tumbled all the way down, in between the shafts of the gears, where it hit the ground and bounced about a little bit. Kipo took it slowly and put it on.
“Okay, good! Now, go into my mind by thinking of me!”

Kipo did so. She found it difficult, as she found it very hard to think about nearly anything in particular at this moment. But she tried as best as she could, and the next thing she knew, she was high above the ground.

To Koise, all it seemed was that Kipo’s physical form faded away, and he could feel Kipo come into his own mind.
‘Hi.’ Koise said
“Hello.” Kipo replied.
‘So, where do I go next?’
Kipo found it very strange and odd that she no longer was in a state of shock. She felt perfectly normal.
“Leap off onto that rope in front of you. Follow it to the right until you get to a ledge. Then shimmy over to the next switch.”
‘Got it.’
Koise did as he was told, and leapt over to the rope. He put his legs over the top like an X to keep himself on, and he pulled himself over the rope to the opposite wall. For Kipo it felt like she was only along for the ride, and she was as nervous as she ever was as Koise was shimmying along the rope.
“I am scared.” She said
“Don’t worry, I’ll make it across.” Koise replied reassuringly, and out loud.
Koise got to the end and shimmied once again to where the switch was. Using his weight he put his hand on the handle and it pulled down and locked into position.
‘One more lever, right?’
“Yes.”
“Okay… where is it?”
‘It should be directly above us.’
“Ahh, okay, thanks.”
‘You are welcome.’
Koise looked above him and saw the problem.
“Uhh, Kipo, there doesn’t appear to be any way up there.” Indeed, there wasn’t. There was nothing to grab onto by leaping off the wall, and the rope Koise was on earlier was now on the floor, plus the way up was bare wall.
‘I was considering that you could use your Swingwhip to get us up there.’
“What?! But we’d be killed!!”
‘Is the battery completely empty?’
“Well it-” Koise stopped for a moment. No, it wasn’t REALLY completely flat, but it was flat enough that it may cut out halfway on the journey up. “If we use it, there’s a good chance it’ll cut away and we’ll fall to our deaths. Or at least mine.”
‘But if we do not, then the world would be at risk of being destroyed. Is that worth not using it?’
Koise considered.
“Alright… okay, we’ll do it. But I got a safer idea.”
‘Okay.’
Koise took the Whip from his backpack and flicked it on. He fired it up to the lever, and then her threw the gun over his shoulder and put it between his foot and the wall. He then grabbed the coils and tugged on them as hard as he could to pull the lever down. He got it about halfway when it stopped suddenly. A few more hard tugs. Nothing.
‘What is wrong?’
“Jammed I think.”
Koise gave it one extra large heave and it gave way and locked into place. However, at that moment, the battery of the Swingwhip truly ran out, and Koise had both hands on the coils, and so he plummeted towards the ground, failing to grab the lever they were currently at. Falling, falling, Koise was afraid t hit the ground. And just as his body was to meet with the cold hard stone, a flash of light went over his eyes, and he disappeared.

Where do Koise/Kipo get teleported to?
A) A lovely meadow, however they’ve been shrunk
B) Inside a computer (as in, they’re digital)

The rest of the gang had made their way down the hallway behind the bookcase for, predictably, quite some time. They had gotten bored of the place and felt more than ready to leave. Suddenly there was a rumbling noise, and the ground began to shake.
“What the hell is that?!” Booger asked, trying to keep his balance. The others were better off as they were taller and thus had a higher centre of gravity.
“Yeah, I suppose we just happen to know!” Scythe replied.
Marilyn put her ear to the wall as best she could (hard at this moment as not only was the ground shaking, but Renon ears are awkwardly places at the back of the head).
“Sounds like there are gears turning!” she said
“Great,” Bob exclaimed, “you all know what that means, right?!”
A drift of silence among the group.
“It means that Koise sealed the Door!”
“Oh yeah we all knew that!” Booger said. And at that moment the rumbling stopped. “Good, now I can walk without fear of breakfast in my fur.”

And walk they did, until, after about 200 meters or so, they came upon another room.
“Alright, what’s this room for?” Booger asked.
“Seems to be an exit room!” Bob said, noting the cute on the opposite side.
“Where does it lead?” Marilyn asked.
“Maybe it leads to a jungle where all the trees are covered in chocolate! And the tigers would have butcher knives for teeth! Yeah, yeah! And we’d have to escape in a monster truck with studded wheels, but there would be dinosaur elephant mammoths chasing us! So we’d fire the possums, but no! It would not be enough! So we’d have to drive off, fall 500 feet and jump out of it as it explodes into a fiery inferno just to get across the ravine!”
A pause of silence.
“Or it could just take us to another bloody room…” Booger finished grudgingly.
“Wish Kipo were here,” Bob said, “There are markings on the wall which may tell us where this thing leads.”
“It doesn’t appear to be steep enough to prevent us to just walk casually back up.” Marilyn said, looking down the cute. “Maybe one of us could go down and see if there’s any danger.”
“I’ll go.” Scythe said, “Those tigers sound awesome.”
“Alright, call back up to us if there is anything, you know… dangerous.” Bob said.
“Yeah yeah, whatever…” Scythe replied as she slid down.

She didn’t really pay much attention as she slid down. She felt like she was in one of those cheap tube mazes you get in Fast Food restaurants for the kiddies (and she hated kiddy stuff). Before too long she slid out onto a small enclosed area at the top of a cliff. She called back to the others.
“Yeah, it’s okay down here! We’re still in the mountains though, dunno if we can go any further!”
“Okay!” Bob said, “We’re coming down!”
Scythe walked out and saw a path from the areas zig-zagging down to the bottom of the mountain range. Booger, Bob and Marilyn popped out of the chute.
“That was fun!” Booger said, “I’m going to do it again!”
“Booge-” Bob started, but he was already up into the chute.
“…...wwwwwweeeeeeeeEEEEEEE!! !” Booger slipped and slid down, twirling about and finally landing in the snow.
“Done yet?” Bob asked.
“Yeah, yeah I’m done.”
“Alright Bob, now where are we?”
“In the mountain range.”
“No, really?!” Booger said sarcastically.
“Yes really! We’re getting closer to LOSA.”
“And just how do you know that?”
“Well the position of the sun, for one thing. It’s starting to get late into the afternoon. Secondly is the fact that I’ve been in this pass before.”
“Wow, you sure do go far when you’re wasted, don’t you?”
“I was totally sober. Always have been.”
“You’re missing out, man.”
“Good.”
“So,” Marilyn cut in, “I suppose we make out way down to the bottom of the valley?”
“Precisely.”

The trip was just like most of their trek out here so far: walking down a narrow, restricted pathway for a while. The wind was calm now, and clouds gracefully floated by the peaks of the mountains high above. The pathway was quite narrow, to the point where they almost could have been safer putting their backs to the wall walk slowly down that way. No handrail or anything. Finally, they reached the bottom, and a path going left and right.
“So, know where to go Bob?” Marilyn asked.
“Well…”
“I’d say we go that way.” Booger said, pointing to the left.
“What makes you say that?” Scythe asked.
“Well I read it on this signpost.” Booger said, pointing to it. It wasn’t much of a signpost, rather a stick with pieces of wood nailed to the top, and the words LOSA and Tramata. “It’s obvious which way we’re going.”
“And off we go.” Marilyn said, and they started down the path.
The mountains here loomed menacingly over the group, with sharp edges in their skin. There was little noise here, save for the blow of the wind and the rustle of any bushes that have managed to grab a foothold there.
“Why am I here?” Scythe asked, stopping.
“Huh?” Booger said, stopping along with Bob and Marilyn.
“I just realized that I have no reason to be here. I’ve done my job, why am I still tagging along?”
“Well…” Bob started, but realized that it was true. She really did have no real reason to be with them. She was only needed to get to that door under Marilyn’s house.
“Look,” Booger said, “I also don’t really have a reason to be with these guys. I could be at home now kicking back! But I’m here to help out.”
“There is also the fact that Scythe is really the only person able to defend Marilyn from that guy without a height handicap.”
“Argh, fine.” Scythe groaned.
“Look, we don’t want to feel like we’re forcing you to be out here.” Marilyn said, “But the fact is that we need you for certain things. You’re the only one out of us here who can use a gun effectively, and if that fight has anything to show you’re adept at hand-to-hand combat as well.”
“I suppose…”

The rest of the walk took up the rest of the day. They slept in a little alcove on the side of the little ‘path’ they were walking down. They lit a small fire to keep themselves warm in the freezing cold, and Marilyn had the blankets and sleeping bags for them to use. The Sun was quick to hide itself behind the mountains, so it took a long while for an orange-pink light on the snowy peaks to signal that it was about to get dark. Marilyn gazed at it dreamily, thinking of where Koise could be, what he was doing. At the moment he was unconscious and many many miles away, but Marilyn, had she known, would not have cared much. Slowly, with her head on a clumped up piece of blanket, her eyes drooped down until she fell asleep.

It was a good two hours later when Scythe woke up. ‘Dammit’, she thought, ‘Need to pee’. She loathed stuff like this, she would much rather do without it. Regardless, she got up and walked behind a convenient bush. As she was, ahem, changing her oil, she heard a noise from the other side of the campsite
“Ahr!” she swore, quickly pulling her pants up. She realized that whatever it was didn’t see her, judging by another small noise. She crouched down and slowly made her way to whatever the source of the noise was. Peering through the bush, she could see a human-shape near the path. She waited until he made his way closer, about to the smoldering embers. When he did, she leapt out. They tumbled a little bit, before Scythe ended up being pinned down to the ground.

It was the man who had tried to kill Marilyn.

“You!” Scythe said, “What are you doing here?!”
“What does it look like, darling?” he said cheekily, “I’m here to take care of your little friend!”
“What have you got against her?”
“Do you think I would tell you?” he said slyly.
“No not really, no.”
“That a girl.”
“Don’t call me that!”
“And why not? I’m the one in control here.”
“We’ll see.”
“Why haven’t you called out to your friends yet? Are you not afraid that they will come to harm?”
“Just waiting for the perfect moment.”
“I see.”
“Who are you?”
“My name is Keiran. I doubt that is my real name, but hey… whatever fits, right?”
“What do you want from me?”
“Well I originally intended to kill your friend, but I have a better plan… I’ve decided to strike a proposal.”
Scythe shuffled.
“What kind of proposal?”
Keiran grinned slyly.

What is the proposal?
A) Kill Marilyn by some method
B) Abandon the Group to find and Kill Koise

A, Scythe had likely thought of it, when Manilyn was complaining, but she was paid to burgle. She has come to at least tolerate the Renon, Booger maybe.

B. Kill Koise! What are you suggesting? That Scythe would run off with a hired thug like Keiran, to find and kill Koise? Come to think of it Scythe is a hired thug, she does have something going on, he bested her, pinned her, but did not harm her, she did not call for help. They are two of a kind.

A proposal, a courting ritual between thugs? He is in control, yet he does no harm and speaks softly, makes offers of other ways, shows respect by keeping her penned down, acknowledges her power, could this be love?

I didn't think of the love thing, and I don't think I'll get into it unless it feels natural.

Also, you didn't actually choose an option!

Unbelievable choices. He may propose either, but it will not happen, they are both lead characters with season contracts.

Scythe changing oil aside, he would have walked up to their fire. Logic rules out coming to tell the group lets kill one of your members. The same goes for saying lets kill Koise, Keiran is showing himself to the group, most are sleeping through this scene, he has something else in mind.

Perhaps he wants to turn on his employer, seeing that Kipo has done the impossible for any other, and changed things. Scythe also seems to lack loyality, except to herself, she is listening.

Still no vote, and it is chute.

I suppose I should take this chance to say that Scythe is currently not on any sort of official contract as such. Rather, she is sticking around casually.

Keiran, on the other hand, is a mystery. I haven't decided yet whether he's doing this on any sort of contract, or for personal gains, or some other reason.

Hmmmm . . . . .this is really a hard choice to make since I'm not sure about the past attempt on Manilyn and i'm not sure how important Manilyn is to the story. In the same light, I don't know much about Koise to know if he should be killed. However, I will make a choice here. I think I'll go with A because that would be twist to the story and I want to see how you would handle it.

Okay. Remember, the killing attempts are NOT guaranteed, as it is a proposal. In fact it isn't even certain Scythe will agree or not!

Should I wait until Inventor comes to a conclusion or should I get on with it?
