It does seem familiar.

My Dad probably has mentioned it. He's a major Anime fan. he liked it before it was popular here, and people made fun of him. :P

Awesome. My parents don't like anime much. Then again, they don't really like anything that comes from Japan. Oh, and I changed my avatar. It's Howl now. I prefer him with blue hair though, but Google only had pictures of him as the bird-thing.

I think he is too. Well, more beautiful than cute I reckon. You should see him when he has blue hair...

Yes it is, and in the case of the Quote thread, that satisfies certain peoples' sad, sick quote fetishes. Naming no names.

Lemme see, ShadesOfMe, OWA, Yog_Sothoth.....

I'm not a sick freak, and Me and OWA have no sick "quote fetishes"

I agree with the former, but not the latter (except for the 'sick' part).

Now that you've said Anime, it sounds Familiar. who's the creator?

Hayao Miyazaki of Studio Ghibli. It's actually based on the books.

I think it ironic that it's a popular Japanese animation, based on a book by a Western author (Diana Wynn-Jones).

Same here. It's a good movie though, hence my new avatar.

Yep. He looks better with blue hair though, but Google had no pictures of him with his blue hair. The only other images were of him in his bird form.

Ahhh so desu, Daiana Win Jônzu, hai hai hai.

When I took my kids to see it, there were two prints of the movie screening in Sydney: a Japanese-language-with-subtitles version, and another with English voiceovers. We elected to go to the English-speaking one, which was a good decision. Emily Mortimer was a gentle and graceful Sophie, and Billy Crystal was an absolute hoot! as Calcifer.

*squeels* Howl! I'm so saving that picture to the computer!

Whee~ Thanks for liking my avatar. It was the best picture I could find of Howl on Google that would be perfect as an avatar. Also, I'm thinking about making my own plushie of Howl. ^^

Although I like Gilgamesh, he'd be too hard to make into a plushie.
