(OOC: Should we just pretend you said Team Flare and not Team Rocket when you wrote out the bit about Red a couple of pages ago?)

BIC: Guinan looked at Lily. "So only the bad guys have teams around here? Why wouldn't the Kalos region trainers work together to defeat the bad guys?" Guinan asked. To Laura, she added, "Mike said that you faced a force that might've destroyed this world?"

(No, each region has a different Team.)


"Most people are just chicken to attempt to take the evil Teams. And actually, yes I did save the world..." She said, scratching the back of her head sheepishly. "But, well it wasn't just me. It was me, Calem, Shauna, Tierno and Trevs."

"I may get myself a starter Pokemon, do they cost anything? If they do then I could just have something valuable sent from Nexus and I could sell it."

"That's a good idea, Mike. Lily and I may have a problem if they cost anything. Unless we can do something for the professor in exchange," Guinan said. "Are they the professor's pokemon, or are they just the ones that happen to live near him?"

"Is gold valuable here?" Mike asks. "The manufacturing facility on the Nexus station recently received a load of minerals from the mining station on IO, and I'm sure they could spare a 100 gram bar."

A hundred grams?!

Did he know how much food that could buy? They could get a bike with that money.... or maybe even a house?!
Their eyes lit up. They could have a place to live, holy s**t, and like, food, for like, three fricking months?!

Lilli piped up. "Um--"

I mean, it was a distant thought, but maybe... if those Pokemon were free, then just maybe...

(OOC: A quick Google search shows it'd be worth several thousand dollars U.S., at least to us.)

BIC: "That's worth a lot to you, isn't it?" Guinan asked Lily. Good luck trading for it, she thought, and she glanced at Laura.

(OOC) In the show where this is from, the main characters are rather poor, so food is rather important to Lilli. There are other reasons Lilli would want money, but I won't delve into that yet.

BIC:
Lilli grinned half-heartedly. "Yeah..."

Their gaze trailed off into the distance.

Coward. You can only depend on others.

OOC: To mikeman: I am making a group picture of our characters and I was wondering if I could use your drawing in it?Here's what I got so far:

"Well, it's not worth much to me. The price of precious metals went waaay down once we could mine asteroids and other celestial bodies, and also I'm a billionaire." Mike gets a sad look and lets out a sign. "Sometimes I wonder if the Solar System would be a better place if I weren't though."

Lilli looked a bit concerned. "Why do you say that?"

Mike turns to Lilli. "I've mentioned the Great Solar War, right? Well... I might have accidentally kinda'... Started it."

He takes out his gun to show Lilli, his finger off the trigger and the safety on. "I was the one to invent this weapon, it's called a particle cannon. It can accelerate a microscopic projectile to a significant fraction of the speed of light, which does a surprising amount of damage. This particular model can fire over a thousand times before it needs to be reloaded although it's firing rate is low, but it is quite powerful for something of it's size. I created them soon after my company, MegaWattz, was started and the United States military loved them. I should have known better then to supply such weapons to what is already the most powerful army ever, but the power got to their heads and they started telling other countries how they should run themselves. Needless to say, these countries hated the United States for this and as such they declared war. The United States had it's allies jump in to help and that divided the world into two alliances: the one composed mostly of western nations later became known as the Solar Alliance and the one composed mostly of eastern nations later became known as the Heiwa Federation. As of right now the conflict has been going on for nearly 20 years and it has since moved into space, becoming a colonization war for the Solar System. There have been a few assassination attempts against me because a lot of people hold me responsible, and sometimes I wonder if they are right." He puts the gun away and looks at the ground.

A thoughtful frown crossed Guinan's face as she listened to Mike's story. After a moment, she asked Mike, "But could you have predicted all the power plays your United States would use against others? And could you have predicted that the other countries would retaliate with violence?"

A lot of this stuff was going straight over Laura and Calem's heads, but a war over a whole solar system? neither one of then knew how to react to that, but they knew he didn't do it on purpose. "Um..." Laura started. Maybe having his own Pokemon would cheer him up a little? "The starter pokemon are free, by the way." She didn't want to sound mean by trying to change the subject, but she meant well.

"The problem was that I was too absorbed with the science of it all to consider the consequences. If I had taken a more thoughtful approach then I might have seen some of the potential consequences. Anyway, when are we going to go see that professor?"

"Wait, I don't think we can expect one scientist to predict all, or even most, of those other actions. The powers chose their own reactions," Guinan was adamant. "Where is this professor anyway?" she wanted to know.

Sam: "She is right you know."
Mike: "Yeah, good point..."
Mike's expression looks less sad.
