I'm feeling niggly. If you do not understand, it means 'irritated'. And I am a very democratic person. If I have a problem, I share it.

You always get every question I ask right, damnit.

What is Ramayana, and who was responsible for it?

I have no idea. Happy? I honestly do not know the answer, except that it is probably Hindu or Buddhist.

I'm satisified that you're not cheating. :P

You'd be correct in saying that it is of Hindu origin.

It was a great Indian epic, written by Valmiki. It's the focus of that book I'm still word processing.

Hmmmm....

Was there gambling involved in it? Like a noble gambled away their house, their estate, and then the freedom of his family?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramayana

I don't think so. It's mainly a representation of India and Ceylon in essence. It has historical meaning, apparently.

It's just that I read about an Indian epic involving that sort of plot. That noble family is forced to go into exile (the gambling was fixed by the noble's rivals). When the family returns from exile, carnage follows.

I have a challenge for you Anubis,

From what poem is this line?

"Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,"

:3

Niggly sounds irritating all right.

Little kid: "I'm niggly!"
Mom: "Clean your room!"

To niggle is to be irritating, nitpicking, etc. To be niggly is to be irritated.

It's the only one I can think of, offhand. I'm not a poetry expert.
