My cat has just made her first snake kill of the season. (That we know about so far.)

A baby king-brown.

Time to trim my furry girl's fingernails! She doesn't bag quite so much prey then.

I should correct myself here: Stripes didn't kill the snake. I had to do it - again. Blech. Yes, they are quite venomous, but this one was (a) only the diameter of a pencil, (b) missing most of its tail, and nearly all its urge to fight, and (c) it had likely expended all its venom already, trying to escape from Stripes.

Now we'll have to do visual inspections before we let puddy in the house! She once brought a red-bellied black snake right into our dining room, and it was way bigger and feistier than today's victim. No way I'm letting that happen again. 8O

Still pretty scary. Scarier if they were still alive. Comes when you own a cat in snake territory.

She could end up spending most of this summer under house arrest. Not just because of the predation thing, but also because I don't want her to get another tick bite (the first one nearly killed her, and a second one definitely would), and also if we have to evacuate for another bushfire, she's easier to catch when she's inside the house. :D

If the last person to post on the thread wins, does that mean that the first person to post on the thread loses? lol

In that case, SteelMaiden is the overall loser.

She won't *kill* the damn things, that's the problem. Ever heard the expression "madder than a cut snake"? I guess she thinks she's doing us a favour: "Look, this one's still got some fight in it, we can all have a play with it."

What's worse, snake and lizard meat don't sit well in her stomach, and eventually she barfs it all up on the carpet. :eew:

Haha, yes cats tend to play with their prey first.

Hey Gewnevyn. How are you?

Hiya! ^_^ I'm doing really well, actually. I'm supposed to be helping to decorate the apartment right now but I'm dawdling. I've been really happy. I'm glad to see you venturing back over to the just-for-fun threads. How are you?

I'm feeling sick at my stomach today, I went out with my parents to eat at Wendy's last night and I think the hamburger was a little undercooked. Might not go to Church tonight in case it is something more serious. PPR forums are actually a little nicer now than last time and I'm taking my Pastors' advice about Philippians's 4:8 and 1 Peter 3:15, about, basically, responding but not responding in kind (still a little trouble doing right with rb and tco, but I'm trying.) I hope you stay happy. Are you happy about the season or something less general? Are you decorating the whole complex or just your apartment? What is new?
