Myself I am putting off getting out the vacuum cleaner. Bleah. Sorry about having to bail last night, iamnotaparakeet, it was past 1 a.m. my time, and I was completely done in. No headache this morning, though, thankfully! :D

That's alright. Earth being round there are different time zones. If I were to move to Australia, which city would be the best to live in and work at?

It's the thought that counts. It's the Wii I would give you, if I could, and was able to.

I should correct myself here: Stripes didn't kill the snake. I had to do it - again. Blech. Yes, they are quite venomous, but this one was (a) only the diameter of a pencil, (b) missing most of its tail, and nearly all its urge to fight, and (c) it had likely expended all its venom already, trying to escape from Stripes.

Now we'll have to do visual inspections before we let puddy in the house! She once brought a red-bellied black snake right into our dining room, and it was way bigger and feistier than today's victim. No way I'm letting that happen again. 8O

I feel your pain. Texas has some great greasy texmex places, but sometimes that's not a good thing.

PPR forums are actually a little nicer now than last time and I'm taking my Pastors' advice about Philippians's 4:8 and 1 Peter 3:15, about, basically, responding but not responding in kind (still a little trouble doing right with rb and tco, but I'm trying.)

That's why I avoid the place in general, not sure I could do the same. Good goal, though not an easy one. At least not always for me. Maybe I should give it a shot again soon, but not until I'm caught back up on sleep...which may never happen.

Pancho's is my favorite of those places, were you referring to another?

It is harder to censor myself when I'm not awake - either when I just got out of bed or need to go to bed. Same way? I'm holding back right now too. Maybe I'll go back when I have more to discuss.

I would agree that America is like an oligarchy, only that the rich don't rule directly as executives but underhandedly through bribes. They are lobbyists and the like. "How much does your opinion cost?"

There's a couple different ones. There's one that's only in Houston called La Fiesta, three or four different locations, it is pretty good. Pretty consistent food.

The less awake, the less restrained, the less clear-headed.

That, and PP&R is the kind of place that I'd want to go digging through sources to back up my position at times, something I'm not motivated enough to do at the present. So I either pretend the place doesn't exist, or I use a browser plug-in to just remove the link to it on the main page. 8)

What's your favorite Mexican dish?

I also heard the Haven is/was bad too. Don't go there myself. Have you?

I've backed off on the place because I've found that the loudest members don't care about sources or logic (or worse yet, pretend to care for logic but spout fallacies left and right). You can work hard and back up your points just to be drowned out by the others. Or you'll be in a serious conversation with a couple people who do care, then a handful of loudmouths will walk in and trash it through the repeated bellowing of unfounded opinions. Mix people who like to exchange legitimate information with people who explode at the drop of a hat... and you have a double dose of: :wall:

Originally I was thinking it would be nice to clean up the PPR, but I don't think we can expect that level of self-control from a group of aspies and auties of all ages and abilities, unfortunately. There are a great many interesting minds here that would be fascinating to engage, if we didn't have to do so in the middle of a bloody brawl. I wonder if there's a solution. How do we raise the standard without silencing those who are incapable or unwilling to live up to it?

The Haven shouldn't be bad, Keets. If anybody sees harassment there, they should report it.

You should ask Postperson. On the WrongPlanet.net forum in this thread http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt49206.html he said:

Postperson wrote:
i think it's the haven he's referring to.

yes, unfortunately Zach, any mention of religion or things of a spiritual nature attracts a the resident bully gang of uh, science believers I guess you'd call them, who almost always use personal attacks. It's hard for the mods to do anything about it as some of the 'trolls' want to get banned (it's like a badge of honour at some other websites) and in any case they just rejoin under a new name and it all starts again, sigh..

you get to recognise their names and i just don't read their posts. they tend to go around in a pack. don't let it put you off the site though.

I don't know this personally though, just that this was really rampant in PPR before I took a break from WP. Seems better now though. Not perfect in the least, but better. Don't know what's going on in the Haven, might want to ask Postperson why he thought so above though.

Ben.
