I like the guy with the golden gun better. Although the barrel should melt the first time it is fired.

Not if the bullet is propelled by compressed air.....But then gold melts at 1064°C.

melts at 1772°C....

Probably gold plated steel, if that pistol was real gold Scaramanga would not have been able to hold it comfortably with just one hand
as gold is twice as dense as lead. His pistol would have weighed more than five pounds if it was solid gold.

Well, don't forget, it is made out of a number of items. A cigarette case for the butt, a lighter for the main chamber, a cufflink for the trigger, and a pen for the barrel.
