Petey is 2 years older than Pepper, but Pete wont live much longer. I hope she dies peacefully though and not by violence like Pepper did. I was hoping he, my stepdad, would drown Peppy, but he put Peppy in a bag and whacked him to death on the porch instead. Beth, I, and all the birds whimpered at the sound. I hope Poppy keeps his hands off Petey.

I would have preferred that. His actions just show to me that he can be as violent to animals as he is to me in speech.

I petted the little guy before he went and he uncharacteristically didn't mind. After Poppy was done with his deed I held his little friend Petey for an hour and she went to sleep on my belly. I think Petey will die peacefully on her own. She is getting more tired in her old age, but I make sure she knows she's loved.
