Seems like I did! I wonder if said dictators notice any omissions when their long titles are announced at a banquet or something.

No kidding, in Africa praise singers are sometimes used to sing and dance the praises of the president at inaugurations, openings of parliament and the like. Dressed in a traditional outfit and shaking a stick.

I just realized that Kipro is only some 200 or 300 posts behind me, although he only joined us in March! That's some intensive posting there! 8O

I wonder where you all are posting too, you don't seem to be overrepresented on the forums exactly. Around just as much as anyone else.

It wouldn't be a bad thing if you were, mind you! I just notice that you both seem to post at the normal rate.

I am a laggard, lagging way behind.

Kip, I would hazard that your avatar is currently an actual picture of you, is that true? 8)

"Laggard" ... there's a new word I've learned today. :nerdy:
I seem to be one myself. Ah well ... nice work, Kip.
And congratulations on your upcoming 3333rd post, Theta.

Māori performances and rituals are incorporated into NZ's parliamentary (and other) ceremonies, too. Old-school English traditions still predominate, but it's nice to see the reflection of multiple heritages all the same.

ah, that would be rather nice...and to have a wonderfully expansive wardrobe too. but i've got a nose like george gershwin.

i mainly hang out on here and random discussion but really, i'm pretty much everywhere, from general autism to PPR (yes PPR, i think i've seen enviro there one or twice. though i stay away from the super heated debates! 8O)

laggard...almost like the band some of my peers made in jr high! (haggard)

i just hope i'm not a spammer.. Aotearoa was originally the name for the north island of NZ no? do you know what the name for the south island was if it had one?

You're not a spammer, Kip. You've just had plenty to say on this site. It's been nice having gotten to know you, from what you've said of yourself.

And you're right about "Aotearoa". (I'm amazed that you know the word itself ? let alone its original usage, which a lot of NZers don't even know. 8O ) These days, though, the North Island is called "Te Ika-a-Māui" in Māori. The South Island was known as "Te Wāhi Pounamu"; these days it's "Te Wai Pounamu", which has a different meaning.

^^^ I always thought that although Aotearoa (Land of the Long White Cloud) referred more specifically to the South Island. Thanks Murihiku for the above info! :thumright:

Yay Kip, yes I visit PPR now and then too, but seldom post there. When I do it's usually something uncontroversial and thoughtful. Believe me when I say our PPR forums are very mild in comparison with things I've seen on various "NT-type" news forums elsewhere on the Web, where trolls seem to abound who seem to enjoy raising as many blood pressures as they can. I've seen such unintelligent and also downright irrelevant comments there that it's a real pleasure to come back to WP where people have more sense. :D

I guess George Gershwin's nose was slightly larger than normal, but I don't particularly see anything wrong with it. :duh: :) All the photos of him online are at a younger age though. No one should be faulted for having their ears and nose grow larger as they age, though. That happens to everyone.

Your avatar is someone different than before though, I'm sure. That's not that same actress, despite the white-ish hair, no?

I think that Kiprobalhato is displaying a portrait of Dorie-Ann Gray.

Hope everyone's ok. I see we are getting a new WP 'this week', although it is already Saturday evening here, so not much of the week left.

Anyone seen a silly old crab around? I miss him. Better not tell him though, he's Finnish. Although the Russian side would probably be ok with it. :?

And Kip, I think Sylkat's 'Dorie Ann Gray' might be a clever pun on Dorian Gray (see books by Oscar Wilde). ;)

Yeah, I've been wondering about that myself. I guess we'll know it when we see it.

I'm also curious as to any inactive members who may return and see it change might think when they see a different Wrong Planet?
