"Um, what's an alliance?"

They didn't mean to change the subject, but Lilli had no idea what he was talking about. Where they from, the concept of

There hadn't been a war for the last three hundred years and their country didn't even have an army. Most places just kept to themselves-- a little sad, really, but, hey, it least it was peaceful! The downside of that, though, was that nobody had the same system- every kingdom was its own little place, and there was no common standard between any of them. Some places were as advanced as here, while others were still stuck in the feudal ages.

People basically ruled their kingdoms however the hell they wanted, and if they wanted to take advantage of people, they could. Lilli lived in a rather nice area, but they had seen the places where people suffered. They had seen people starve-- not die, but on the brink of death.

That's why they loved this place-- they had free food, free lodging, free health care (for Pokemon, at least.) Nothing was free where they came from; everyone worked for themself.
But here no one had attacked them or stolen their money, and everyone had been so nice-- they loved it here!
They even had communication networks, and public transportation...

Guinan thought about it. "An alliance is... a relationship that benefits everyone involved," Guinan began. "As a person, you could form an alliance with someone to help each other out or protect each other. As you start to trust each other more, allies can become friends too. Countries can form alliances to protect themselves and each other also."

"Ohh, like a trade union!"
Lilli was finally starting to understand. They smiled at Guinan.
"I suppose we could be considered allies?"

Laura smiled. "Yeah, I guess... But maybe we should get going..?" She started out the door, but somebody was standing outside. It was Shauna! Laura gasped. The only one out of her little group that stayed around was Calem, and that was only because he was worried about her because it wasn't until a few months ago that she realized that she couldn't remember anything nefore she was nine, witch caused her to be somewhat of a shut in. Heck, the only reason she was in Lumiose City the day before was to go to the Battle Institute. She would lose herself, just watching battles and not taking part in any of them. But now she decided that she should at least stop shutting her friends out "Hi Shauna!' she squealed.

Guinan smiled back at Lily, nodding. "Yes, of course. So where are we going? If we're going far, we should try to find a way to bring supplies if that's possible." Then, she watched Laura greet her friend and smiled at them.

"If were going to Sycamore's lab, that's in Lumiose City. Witch we could be there in 10 minutes flat. She tossed Sora's pokeball up into the air, and the large bird from before appeared. Calem threw a pokeball as well, revealing a smaller blue and white brid that looked like it had clouds for wings. She apologized to Shauna for shutting her out and said bye, and they made their way to Lumiose.

"It's this way!" Laura shouted, grabbing Calem's hand and leading them to a building. "Professor Sycamooore?!" Laura called. "Hey, we found some people who want some pokemon!" Calem said, his voice echoing thoughout the empty room.

Guinan enjoyed the flight. Never had she experienced anything quite like it. "Have you all done this before?" she laughed and grinned at Lily and Mike as she tried to push her curly hair out of her face.

"Yeah, tons of times." she said, returning the large bird to his ball.

A rather tall man ran down the stairs, with a worried expression on his face. "Laura are you alright? We haven't seen you in ages. he said. " Yeah, I'm fine I guess." she said." I met some people from another dimension that want their own pokemon, though!

(OOC: I'm cracking up at how ridiculous that sounds. Thinking the robot might convince the professor anyway though.)

(its supposed to sound like that. Laura is just flighty and silly like that.)

Sycamore gave her a once over. "Are you sure?" he asked simply.

...Wait, that was the professor?
Dayum.

Lilli suddenly became rather fascinated with the ground.

"Are you sure?" he asked Laura.

Holy crap, that voice.
Their face became slightly red as they realized it reminded them of Teach.

"Laura, do I need to get you checked out?" he asked. Lilli looked like a normal person, and he was worried she had lost it.

"No, I'm fine! they really are from another dimention!"

"They?" he asked, confused.

"Yes! I swear they don't bite!" she said. calem facepalmed.

"Lilli!" she called, running back towards the entrance. "Help me out here, please??"

Guinan looked at Mike, then at Lily, as the professor questioned Laura. "Do you have that book on you?" she asked Lily.

They looked around nervously.
"Um, no... But I have it on my phone!"

They whipped it out and began searching for the picture.

"Oh, and in case you were wondering..." they said while scrolling through the screen.
"He's like a badass scientist who accesses portals, she's like, two hundred years old and works on a starship, and I'm a monkey who magically teleported and turned into a human. Oh, and..." They casually pointed a thumb at Guinan. "She's trapped here."
