So are we all going for Canada, now?

They've already won the women's gold for ice hockey.

Yep. Canada vs. Sweden coming up on Sunday for men's gold

Although, the past two days have been pretty awesome already. Two days in a row of eliminating the USA!

I have to agree. I told you that you should have played Krabo. Still, at least you beat the Russians. 8)

Just noticed something worth mentioning. Type "do dogs" in the Google suggestion box. The first autocompleted alternative will be "do dogs have brains."

Some people have to Google that? 8O

Which also begs the question Krabo, what were you googling at the time? And why was it in English?

I was googling "Do dogs understand talk" or "Do dogs understand English" (and the same in Finnish but there are no hits at all.) Most of the time I use the English google because the language of the Internet is English and most of the interesting stuff is in English. Nobody denies this.

Right. I had to test it. If you type "do cats" in the suggestion box you get something cute. 8)

That's what people most want to know about cats? 8O

I can tell you from experience that my dog recognises certain words. We can be having a normal conversation (not talking to the dog), and just mention the word "rats", and he will be up off the sofa barking immediately. He also recognises other words like "dinner, water, walk, cat" etc. That reminds me of a Far Side cartoon - I think this sums up their level of understanding quite nicely:

Interestingly, one of my friends taught her dog all his commands in Maori, even though they speak English at home. So you can say 'sit' to the dog,and it just looks at you, but if you give the commands in Maori (don't ask me....) it obeys.

Wow, a dog that understands Māori. That's so cute. :)

I tried looking up "do moomins" ... nothing too unusual there.

But I did get more interesting results from "are moomins" ... :P
