Ok, I'll just pop the kettle on now. You'll be here soon will you, babybird?

I'll just make it a flying visit if that's ok.

:D

That's ok, I don't like guests to stay too long. You end up having to talk to them or something. :P

I don't encourage visitors either. :)

You should try living in the middle of nowhere. It's a great deterrent to visitors. The drawback is that those who are brave enough to venture this far, feel they have to 'make the most of it' by staying for far longer than necessary. :?

I don't tell people where I live.

I try not to. Although there are always those sales people or Jehovah's witnesses who knock even when they don't know you. Luckily they don't come around here too often. In fact, I haven't seen any since that time a few years ago when I answered the door only half dressed.

Why did you do that?

I was half asleep. I wasn't thinking too clearly. I'm not at my best first thing in the morning.

Answering the door half dressed won't really be much of a deterrent to some, depending who the visitor/s is / are. Some may well be encouraged by it. :D

Outside of the US, a gun might be an OK idea, but a python is much more original. Wear it as a belt, clothed or unclothed, and there won't be much likelihood of many unannounced visitors staying.

That said, I hope I would be able to stay for a cup of tea if I don't canvass for the Church of the Genetic Revolution (tell you all about the bible from Genetics to Revolutions).

Krabo, I know you live among savages, but I'm pretty sure I would get in trouble here for brandishing that thing at visitors. Can I just say though? Cool!

Enviro, I think the deterrent was in the fact that they were 'religious types' knocking on the door to save my soul. At 9am on a Sunday I ask you, what did they expect? There's probably a big black cross on a map in their headquarters, warning their innocent never to go near ''crazy half dressed woman's" house ever again.

And of course you can stay for a cup of tea. I'm generally ok with people I like, as long as they give me some warning of their visit.
