I played Dungeons and Dragons once. Thing is, it requires a lot of time to actually play. I only reached the second level.

I played the boardgame at my friends once. I find game versions of the genre are better going though.

I read about Gygax yesterday and thought about posting it, but never got back online. I thank him for the hundreds of hours of enjoyment I got in playing D&D and watching the cartoon that it spawned.
