* climbs to the very summit of the thread,
stabs the flagpole holding the flag of Victory into Zara's post, and proclaims
"All shall Dow Bown Mefore Be!" *

For the last time, read it. Q-U-A-T-E-R-M-A-S-S. And look up "Professor Bernard Quatermass" on Wikipedia.

Yeah, I thought you liked ships at first too, Quatermass. I guess you aren't a supercargo though.

St Paul's Cathedral, which is right next to the college I'll be going to (St Paul College), has this phrase written on it: EVNTES ERGO DOCETE OMNES GENTES. I could recognize the ergo (therefore), omnes (all), and gentes (peoples) which is the same in Spanish. I think evntes is some conjugation of ven- and doceo means 'teach'.

I think this is a reference to:

euntes ergo docete omnes gentes baptizantes eos in nomine Patris et Filii et Spiritus Sancti (Matthew 28:19 Vulgate)

Translated literally, this would be:

Go-you therefore teach-you ALL peoples, baptize-you them in name Father and Son and Spirit-Holy. (Ben's word for word. :P )

And, in "Englisch" this would be:

Go ye therfore, & teache all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the sonne, and of the holye ghost: (Matthew 28:19 Bishops 1568)

Go therefore, & teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and the Sonne, and the holy Ghost, (Matthew 28:19 Geneva 1587)

Goe ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Sonne, and of the holy Ghost: (Matthew 28:19 KJV-1611)

In contemporary English it is:

Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (Matthew 28:19 MKJV)

No, just the predecessor to Doctor Who. You obviously didn't read the Wikipedia article.

Although Nigel Kneale never liked Doctor Who. Grumpy old sod...
