Well, you could introduce another topic. I'm more of a joiner-inner.

Count me among joiner-inners, too. -- For example, those few threads I have started made my hands shake for the rest of the day. I was terribly afraid that they would go ignored. Then I thought What do I care? They are forum threads, not life-and-death questions.

It's the old 'second penguin' theory.

It's a brave penguin that is first penguin, jumping through a hole in the ice and hoping there is not a predator down there. I'm not even second penguin or third penguin. I'm like 'number 19 penguin'. 8)

Pushy sales people trying to get your money.

I literally had to deal with a waiter throwing a hissy fit because we didnt want to have a last drink and get wasted last night. He was still pissed at us an hour later.
Have to see him next week and hopefully he will behave better

People who get so drunk that they either become aggressive, start talking to me about stupid s**t, or else end up making a mess of themselves. :eew:

I'm surprised you don't like marmite, Mooms. How about vegemite? I like both, personally.

^ yeah Spongy, sales people of any type. Especially the ones who phone up during dinner time to try to sell me stuff I don't want.

Also spiders. Four legs good, more legs or two legs bad. 8)

Murihiku - never have been able to stand the stuff. Or Vegemite either. There was a national shortage over here last year, everyone playing it up in the media. I didn't give two hoots.

I can't help but wonder what God almighty had in mind when he gave that corner of the world to live in, to such nice people as the Australians. It's scorching hot, there are two cillion poisonous species of snake, alligators can fly, this nice looking bird keeps you awake all night. If Australia was in Scandinavia, I would have moved there decades ago. The people are really different from all other nations.

But what really keeps me away is vegemite.

What surprises me is when someone lives in a paradise like New Zealand, where you can walk through long grass and the worst thing that attacks you is a tick, and then they move to Australia. Hey Murihiku? :P

They never mention anything about poisonous mushrooms in Australia. Are there any? We have one that kills you if you look at it.

Of course. Australia has poisonous everything. People have died from eating Death Cap mushrooms here, among others. Tourists seem more susceptible to being killed by poisonous things or the natural environment in Australia, though; locals grow up knowing what kinds of things to avoid. But in all honesty, cities are pretty safe here.

Not sure why Australians would be regarded as nicer than anyone else, or New Zealand as a paradise of any note. Surely there are other such peoples and places across the globe (the only other place I've been to is Japan, so I'm not an expert). My mother went to Canada, and she reckons the people there are so nice and polite that it's downright strange. Plus its natural beauty rivals that of New Zealand. I'd consider moving there, or to Scandinavia (which is also highly regarded around the world), if they weren't so cold.

But who am I kidding ... I'll probably stay in the Antipodes for the rest of my life. It's nice here.

Is there really a mushroom that kills if you look at it?

Sounds off to me
