Laura sighed, but grabbed Lychee by the wrist, moving it where it flung out of her hand and onto the floor, letting the pokemon shoot out in a flash of blue light, and the ball bounching back into their hand. "Did you get that?"

"Well, uh, you just sent it out." Lychee blinked.

Whatever. She didn't really seem to get what they were saying, so... it didn't really matter. "I meant, show me the motion, not do it for me,but... whatever." they said, getting progressively quieter.

"Yehh, I... get the basic idea." they said, nodding uncertainly. "I can always learn it on my own some other time. I think I'll just send them out the 'normal' way for now."

They pressed the button in the middle of a Poke Ball they were holding, and a purple, bat-like Pokemon popped out.
"Go, Purple Fanta."

Laura ran an ample distance away before throwing her own pokeball. "Come on out, Vinca!"

The enormous purple Crobat, hovered in front of Lychee, as Lychee stared across the view of the battlefield. Its eyes were locked intently on the other Pokemon, and there was an aura of seriousness about the room.

"Wow, this is cool." Lychee breathed in as they grinned. "Feels like I'm in a movie or something."

Suddenly, a square menu popped up like they were in a video game, and it had a list of all of the Crobat's moves. Lychee's eyes scrolled the list uncertainly. "Uhm... what am I supposed to do."

When they looked up, they were able to see a green bar hovering over the other Pokemon's head... its HP. They knew that much, but how are you supposed to attack?

"Just call out one of his move names and he'll use it!" Laura shouted, but not loud enough to wake anyone up. "Now are you gonna start or me?"

(I think you forgot to mention.. what kind of Pokenon is Vinca? )

[Battle music blares softly from thin air.]

(Vinca is a white flower Flabebe, and Lola is a Shiny Milotic.)

"So..." Mike says, "Where this weird place is, what Pokemon will you be using?"

(I wanna do this in a format where we do two moves at a time, so the battle doesn't go too fast. Remember, you write two reactions and then two moves.)

"I... guess I'll go first." Lychee said.
They looked down at their Pokemon's moves. "Um.... Purple Fanta, use Air Cutter!"

As if in response, the Crobat nodded at them, and she flapped her wings furiously, sending razor-like gusts of wind to tear at the Flabebe.

"Cool??" Lychee grinned. They felt like they were in a movie.

The next turn, Lychee said, "Now, use Mean Look!"
They didn't know what that meant, but it sounded mean. Maybe it lowers attack?

Fanta's eyes glowed yellow as she glared at the Flabebe. If Laura tried to withdraw her Pokemon now, she couldn't, as the Poke Ball wouldn't work.

(BTW, they're in the middle of the hotel lobby, it's empty, and it's two in the morning so they have to be super quiet. )

"You two, do your best!", Dan softy hollers toward Lychee and Laura, who started the battle with their Pokémon out.

Both Dan and Rose are sitting on the bench just outside in the battle stadium, in the middle of the room.

Vinca tried to use her flower as a sheild against the wind, but that didn't go too well.
The little Flabebe blinked obliviously at Purple Fanta.

"Alright, use Solar Beam!" Laura commanded. She hoped that it would work despite being inside with the only light comming from a few chandeliers. Vinca closed her eyes and took a deep breath, waited a turn, and shot a bright orb of light at her.

(Ugh, sorry! I'm really not that good at writing battles. )

Lychee shielded their eyes as Vinca shot out a bright beam of energy. When it hit Fanta, the beam of light exploded and dust went everywhere and no one could see.

When the dust cleared, Lychee could still see their Crobat flying there, perfectly unharmed, looking exactly the same as before.

"That's right..." Lychee muttered. "Grass must be ineffective against Flying.""

Lychee thrust their arm outward, looking uncertain. "Uh... now finish it off with Cross Poison!"

They blinked. That sounded pretty strong.

Eep! Maybe picking Vinca was a bad idea... Laura thought, slightly panicked as she hit the ground, out cold. Laura quickly recalled Vinca, before tossing Lola's pokeball. The blue serpent smirked confidently as she glimmered brightly.

"Alright, use Aqua Ring!" Laura called on the next turn.
