"Thank you." She smiled brightly.

She turned back to Lychee. "Now where were we?" She asked, putting her hands on her hips.

(Bumpitty, bump bump, bumpitty, bump bump....)

That.... Aqua Ring move was bad. It seemed to be healing her Pokemon every turn, so they'd need a pretty good supereffective move to knock it out, Lychee thought.

But what was Water-type weak against? ...Electricity, maybe?

Lychee slapped a hand against their head. "Water conducts electricity, duh."

They withdrew Peanut Butter and sent out a Jolteon. "Go, Pizza!"

"Pizza, use Toxic!"

They snapped their fingers, like they just remembered something.
"Ha-HAH, that's right! The damage from Toxic worsens every turn, so maybe that'll be enough to overcome Aqua Ring!"


The next turn, they said, "Pizza, use Discharge!"

It was dreaming of someone, someone lost. It twitched and nearly fell off the chair, its tears dripping onto the floor.

When Dan saw Pizza using Toxic on Laura's Milotic, Dan thought, Doesn't Milotic have that Marvel Scale Ability? It's physical defense will go up when it's under an ailment like poisoned or burned.

Darn it! I really hate it when this happens! Laura thought, grumbling, before rerembering something and trying not to burst out into a trollish grin. "Lola, use Refresh!"

The shiny got half of her HP taken by Discharge which she got some of back from Aqua Ring, but Laura decided to go out on a limb, silently praying that there wasn't another electric move coming. "Use scald!"

Lychee recoiled in surprise. "Huh? You can use moves to heal status?!" They thought Chansey could use that move, but not Milotic.

Lychee looked at Pizza's moves. Jolteon's a special attacker... right? So won't its special moves hit the hardest? "Uhh... Pizza, use Shadow Ball!"

They glanced up at the chandelier on the ceiling. It was rather pretty... Kalosian diamond?

Lychee was suddenly snapped out of their thoughts as Pizza was hit
with Scald. It took a decent chunk out of his HP, but for some reason he hadn't fainted. That's right... Electric must be resistant to Water.

A grin spread across their face. "All right, then... I guess we should finish this? Pizza, use Thunderbolt!"

Meanwhile, at Olive's house...

"Look ouuuuut!! !" Olive screamed. She stumbled back as she finally noticed the giant red spider clacking behind Guinan.

She gestured around frantically with her pointer finger as she tried to figure out what to do.
"Uh... uh... uh..." She glanced into the closet behind her, but then her mouth dropped open as she realized something. Olive paled, and she put her hands over her mouth. "Oh my Arceus. I thought I had my flamethrower, but it's like, totes out of fuel."

"The only thing that will for sure get rid of this thing…" Olive mouthed. "... is if you used a Pokemon. You still have your Fennekin, right?"

She glanced at Guinan, scared. "I'd call my Pokemon, but they're like, all out in the yard??"
She pointed up at the Ariados. "Use a Fire attack on it, and then chuck a Poke Ball at it! Quick!" Olive instructed.

At that moment, Guinan almost felt like she could hear music playing...


(OOC: Assuming the Ariados is Level 22, it would know Leech Life, Night Shade, Shadow Sneak, and Fury Swipes.

Although that doesn't really matter, because we could just say that Foxy used Ember on it and it was weak enough for her to catch. )

The Shadow Ball left Lola dangerously low on HP, and Laura started to panic. "Umm, Lola use scald again!"

Her eyes nearly fell out of her head as Lola fainted from the Thunderbolt. "Oh my god... Nononononono, this is very bad. Very, very bad..." She quickly withdrew the fainted Milotic back to her Pokeball. "E-Excuse me, I've got to go. Like... right now." She said, quickly spinning around and meekly shuffling out the door, mortified that there were more people other than just Lychee who saw her lose a battle. For the first time in three years! She wanted nothing more than to just crawl into a whole and die with no one to rerember her. But no, her luck seemed to have run dry.

"Hey, what's the matter?", Rose called out to Laura, who seemed to be in a state of panic.

"You just saw that, so you tell me what's the matter! That's the first battle I've lost in years!" She cried, rushing out the door.

Lychee grinned hugely as they had won the battle. They blinked twice. "Did... did I win?" They blinked again as Laura withdrew her Pokémon. Was this real? "I... I didn't lose."

They grinned. "Hey, I... I didn't lose! Oh my gosh, that was so fun! Laura, thanks for battling me! I didn't realize that..."

Their smile quickly vanished as Laura began to leave the room. "Whoa whoa whoa, wait!" They rushed after Laura as she was exiting the lobby. "What are you doing? Is something wrong?"

"It's fine, I swear. It was a good battle, and congrats on winning, Lychee. I just..." She gulped. "I've gotta go. Like, right now."

"So you lost the Pokémon battle," said Dan, "So what? What the heck is the big deal?"

"Do you even know how big a deal it is for a champion to lose a battle? In public, especially to someone like Lychee who's probably kinda rusty, on top of that there's other people watching? It may not be a big deal to you commoners, but it is more than a little humiliating for me." She sighed. "Now I've already excused myself, so I'll just be going..."
