I didn't know there was such a thing as a self checkout till. I think folk here wouldn't know what to do at first. I see the instore dvd hiring place is doing it though and everything can be booked out via the computer.

Maybe we'll get to that point eventually but I'm so used to the tellers at the checkouts by now.

They've been around a while, yes
If you haven't been checking elsewhere, Ten is on vacation as they say, and I'm on Day 8 out of 11
But an absence does not mean a lack of losing ability!

Hey Spongy, hope you are feeling better now.

Happy holidays Ten!

Thinking about it, we have a self checkout at the library. I manage that perfectly well. But then, the library is a lot less daunting to me than the supermarket. :)

Something doesn't fit out there. I am from Finland, a country which is between the same parallels as Alaska (save the narrow southern panhandle), that is, between the 60th and the 70th parallels. It is mid April. We should have one foot of snow and some -10 °C frost.

But.

The ground is green. You can walk outside wearing a T-shirt and jeans. Bearfooted.

As Kierkegaard put it, I am trembling in fear. Anticipating the hot continental-climate summer from the east.

Global warming. It is still drought conditions here. It is starting to cool down in the evenings though. I have even started to wear my slippers.

You know, getting old is not so bad, were there not these bodily sensations you call ache. Like back ache, stomach ache, neck ache, shoulder ache, left sole ache, right sole ache, little finger tip-joint ache, little finger second-joint ache, tooth ache. Not that I have many left, it must be a phantom pain.

Otherwise I'm fine. 8)

I am not sure how to feel about global warning.

It appears to have affected moonings avatar quite heavily

It is not too bad here though

We have gone overnight from sunny and still quite warm, to howling gale and pouring rain. It's another cyclone coming through, just in time for the Easter break. I'm not looking forward to going out this morning, my gumboots have a hole in them. Looks like a shopping trip is needed today. :(

How's the weather been, Mooms? I just saw a photo of my old home town, and the main promenade was completely flooded.

Hi babybird, what are you smiling at? :D

Murihiku - weather was just as bad as expected. I did the worlds fastest ever Gumboot shopping, so I could feed out this weekend. After that it was so appalling that I did six hours of work today (inside, on the computer) and have done a ton of Italian and Finnish study. And yes, there's been a ton of flooding and wind.

I was smiling at everyone.

To be honest, I had nothing to say, so I thought a smile might do.

So often I don't have anything to say either.
