"Hm..." Lychee considered what Dan said, and then nodded. Their eyes were distant, as if remembering some far-off memory. "Yeah. I suppose you're right."

They stared at the ground. "If you don't do anything, nothing's ever gonna happen."

Their eyes lit up. "Say, can you train me? Like, teach me how to battle?" they asked excitedly.

"There's... no one here," Lychee said. "It's a deserted hotel lobby at 4:30 in the morning."

It was them, the old man at the desk, and the one maid mopping.

"...If it's any comfort to you, I lost battles all the time." Lychee said suddenly. "That's why I quit being a Pokémon Trainer."

"Hmmm....", Dan said, pondering, "Well...I'll think about it, but I'll see what I can do. Say, would you like to battle with me?"

"Wait, you mean... alongside you, or against you? Sorry, that's kind of an ambiguous sentence."

They shook their head. "No, it's way too late for that. Once I go talk to Laura, I'm gonna go get my mom and we have to leave."

"Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to confuse you like that," Dan said, "Alright, well, I am getting pretty tired anyway. *yawn*. Alright, I'm going to go find my cousin. C'mon, Shedinja."

Dan's Shedinja then followed Dan, and the two exited the Pokémon Battlefield to find Rose.

"Well, just so you know, many people watch things mainly because their interested in watching them, and find them fascinating," Rose responded.

"She can be rather... difficult to interpret." Calem commented.

"Yean, but there was also Kimmy, Lucy, Mike, Emma, Calem, Dan, Rose, Space Skitty... and yes, the maid and the desk clerk. And plus, this was the first battle I lost in years! I'm also positive that if Irene somehow caught wind of this I'd never hear the end of it..."

"Yeah, but we don't care." Lychee said. "You're making a big deal out of something that's not, so stop it. You're human. Nobody expects you to be perfect."

Laura was about to protest, but Lychee cut her off. "And just because you're the Champion doesn't make you any less human than anyone else. So chill."

Laura flinched, before looking down at the ground. "Okay, um, sorry." She said, trying not to freak out at how irritated Lychee seemed with her.

"Yup." Olive grinned, her hands on her hips. "Pokemon evolution is pretty beautiful. It's pretty cool to see when all that training and stuff actually pays off."

She turned to Guinan with a smile. "That's one of the things I like about raising Pokemon. You get to see 'em grow and change along with you." She twirled a loop of hair behind your head. "It's, like... its own kind of journey, y'know?"

When Guinan agreed with her, Olive's expression actually became... dismayed for a second. There was a bit of silence between them for anyone spoke. Olive was staring at the floor.

"Uhm... I actually wanna be a Pokemon Breeder, if you can believe that," she said quietly. "I wanna be able to do something to help someone, you know? But like, my mom and I don't really have the budget to house all of these creatures... And I feel kind of sorry for them 'cause I don't think I can properly take care of them here. That's why I'm stuck with this... kind of junky excuse for a house, because it's the only thing within my price range."

She grimaced. "But, I'm not sure if I'll ever have the money to open my own breeding facility. And at this point, I think it's kind of a pipe dream..."

As if she was waking from a dream, Olive suddenly snapped out of her thoughts. "Oh my god, I'm sorry, I am so totally rambling!" she apologized.

She hadn't even answered Guinan's question yet. "That's Spinarak, it's the pre-evolution of Ariados, and it's everywhere! Yikes, and we still have to go the store to get the groceries!"

She threw her hands on her face as she realized what time it was. "Oh my god, we still have so much left to do!"

(^Pretend that post doesn't exist.)

"Well... Just because I don't have to be perfect doesn't make it feel any less like I have to be." She said with a still disheartened sigh.

It awakened abruptly, shouting something that sounded like 'Shin-ya', but then looked around in bewilderment.

Lychee's eyebrows creased together. "Why do you think that."

It repeated the word more softly, looking miserable, staring about as if searching for someone.

Laura adverted her eyes. "I dunno."
