Laura slumped against the wall, relived, wiping her forehead. "Alright, I'm not gonna be in trouble... Laura breathed anxiously. "Please tell me this guy works really fast!" She pleaded.

"I... don't really know." Lychee said brightly. "Kiki didn't really say anything about them."

"But Kiki's like, a magical genie, remember? I'm sure they can just warp reality or something to make sure we can get it done by next week."

"Hey." Lychee suddenly turned and began walking toward the restaurant. "I'm gonna go back to the restaurant. I told my mom I would be back within an hour. Why don't you come with?"

"Alright," Said both Dan and Rose. And then the two started following Lychee back to the dining area.

It looked at the others for a moment, and then followed, but not before taking the last three cream puffs as a precaution.

Lychee walked into the buffet, past the sign that said "Richissime Restaurant" and over to the table where everyone was eating.

Everyone was packing up their things in silence, but one person was nowhere to be found. Lychee looked around uncertainly as they walked in. "Um, where's Lilli...?"

It was oddly tense as they walked in, and there were worried looks on everyone's faces.

"I don't know," Umbria said, "They just... got all pale, and then they started crying, and then they... said they wanted to leave and they just... left."

"When was that?" Lychee asked.

"Mmm, a couple of hours ago."

Lychee's eyebrows were creased with concern. "Did... something upset them?"

"I'm... not sure, I didn't really get the chance to speak to them," Lychee's mother answered. "I'm sure they were just tired or having a long day, though. It's not your fault, Lychee."

Suddenly Naomi spoke up rather uneasily from one end of the table. "I-- I asked them about their family."

Lychee's eyes went wide. "You what."

She shrank back. "I didn't realize it would be such a big deal! They just mentioned having a sister, so I asked about their sister. They wouldn't answer me."

(OOOOOOH SHEETS. )

"Huh? I thought Lychee only had a brother? And why would she just freak out over someone asking about her?" She asked.

Calem blinked and looked down at the floor. "...Maybe something happened that they don't care to rerember...?"

(OOC: I accidentally had Lychee say Lilli's name. Ignore that. They've never met Lilli.)

"...And that's when they suddenly got all upset and left." Lychee said.

Naomi gulped. "Yeah."

Lychee's voice became downcast. "...s**t.

Lychee turned to Laura with a look of confusion. "That was their name, right? The kid in the kimono?"

[^^Don't you mean Lilli, not Lychee?]

It began wandering around the room, hands outstretched, checking for any hidden portals that might be around.

Laura nodded. "Yep, that was their name."

(Okay. At this point, I'm feeling lazy, so I'm just gonna do a time skip.)

That moment passed, and Lychee's mom thanked everyone for coming and then they packed up all of their stuff and headed back into the lobby.

It was five-ten in the morning, now. Naomi and Sign had already left, and Kimmy and Lucy had, of course, fallen asleep. Right now, everyone was talking and exchanging goodbyes.

Lychee looked around uneasily. "Uhm... thanks for coming. I was afraid this failed family reunion would turn out to be a blowout."

Suddenly, Lychee's mom whispered something in their ear, and they gasped and looked around and everybody and a smile spread onto their face.

"Really?" they whispered to their mom. Their mom smiled at them and nodded fast.

Lychee suddenly became rather nervous as they looked around at everyone else. "Er... hem!"

Lychee cleared their throat to get everuyone's attention. "Uhm... If I were to have a legit birthday party tomorrow, would you wanna come? It would really mean a lot to me if you could."

It looked excited at the prospect of more food, and nodded eagerly in Lychee's direction.

"This wasn't a legit birthday?" Calem asked.

"Heck yes! No offense intended.... at all, but this was kinda boring." Laura said nervously.

"Hey, at least the food and the music was great," said Dan, "And we get to see you two have a Pokémon battle."

"Until Laura got really upset about it," Rose added.

Lychee blinked. "No, it... wasn't a birthday at all. It was a family reunion."

Lychee's mother chuckled. "I told them they could invite people, but it looks like the only ones who showed up were you all."

When everyone looked at them confused, Lychee's mother explained. "It's an Alolan tradition, you see." she told everyone. "We don't celebrate birthdays until the day after."

Lychee suddenly seemed more ecstatic than ever before. "I... I've actually never had a birthday party before!" they gasped.

Their mother was about to say something, but Lychee held up their finger. "Josh coming over was not a birthday party. That was a birthday hangout."
