i stumbled across an interesting clip.
i would never have thought that phyllis diller had any musical aptitude until i saw this.

this is the only example i have found of her playing a keyboard, and it is her composition (which i suspect was truncated for the show). forward to 1:25 to see her play (the prior footage is nauseating). i never found diller to be funny, but i am astonished at her hidden talent and why she never utilized it.

Thank you, b9, for sharing two performers who never used cruel humor, and who made it on their talent, not by attacking other people.

I thought of Jimmy Hoffa, but couldn't categorize him as a "celebrity".

Many Trade Union bosses were very well known, even notorious, in the UK in the 1960s and 70s (and I presume it was a similar situation in the US). But even so.....

Agreed....Mr. Hoffa was not a nice person.

Being notorious does not equate with being famous, but his fate has been a source of fascination, argument, theories, ands the subject of many articles, books, and T.V. Shows in America for decades.
