I'd say English is a pretty hard language to learn. There are all those words that sound alike but have different meanings.

Homonyms exist in all languages, you just have to
determine the most probable meaning for context.

They have them more often here in Australia and New Zealand. Dunno about anywhere else. I don't like them because I don't like fruit, but they're relatively common.
