"Okeydokey, so are we ready to go?" Lychee grinned.

"Yeah," Gristle said, and they came to the startup screen. But after that, Lychee was looking around uncertainly, like they didn't know what to do.

Are you hurt by something? It asked, peering over at Lychee while awkwardly holding the Wii remote in its claws.

Lychee looked down shyly as they toyed with their fingers. "I... I've actually never played a multiplayer game before." they muttered.

Gristle's mouth shot open. "Never?"

They fumbled with the controller in their hands. "Well... not since like, 2009."

“Really, what happened?”, Dan asked curiously to Lychee.

"There used to be this guy I would hang out with, and he used to come over and play games, but we kinda... drifted apart in the fifth grade."

They shrugged. "It's not any big reason or anything, I just... haven't had anybody to play with."

You are alone...lonely...alone...as I am. It looked up at Lychee pensively.

After some time, Lychee said, "Well... not anymore."
They looked around at Dan and Rose and Gristle and everyone and smiled. "I wouldn't say I'm lonely at all."

They put a hand on the creature's claw. "And um, you aren't either."

There is a lot of light in space...even the stars sing... It smiled slightly, as if genuinely happy for Lychee, but also hiding something. Even the stars sing...but I have a small light, so how can that light reach...? for a moment, it seems about to say someone's name, but then finishes with ..anyone...?

"Light?? What?" Lychee's face scrunched up, like Space Kitty had just tried to explain the principles of quantum physics to them.

The light in space is very bright, so if I do not shine just as brightly, someone dearest might not know where I am... It tried to explain.

(Are they ever gonna play the game? ^^; )

Dan, Rose, and Lychee were about to select their characters, but Lychee paused. "...Is someone looking for you? Are you lost or something?"

It decided to select Daisy, as the spunky princess reminded it of a dragon maiden it had once met, but then looked over at Lychee again. I am not lost. I know exactly where I am...but no one else does.

"What do you mean, 'no one else does?'"
They tilted their head. "Then who's this person that's dearest to you? Do you want them to find you for some reason?"

No one else I know knows where I am. It stated awkwardly, fidgeting with the controller. I do not know if I can find that someone. I am a maybe, an anomaly, a creature born of a possibility.

"Wha?" Lychee didn't understand what the creature was saying. Even though they'd watched a lot of speculative fiction and stuff, it made no logical sense. They tried to think about it, but eventually they just threw their arms over their head. "Gahhhh, I don't understand!"

I am what could have been if a certain choice was made. It tried to explain. I come from an alternate reality of a certain planet.
