I was a big fan of Waterstones when I was in England. I was a long way from London though. Not as far as I am now though.

I've just checked out all the online book stores here, it is not available. I may have to try to order it from Finland. That will test my Finnish well beyond my capabilities at the moment. :?

Helsinki, Stockmann or Akateeminen Kirjakauppa. They have comprehensive customer support in English.

Olepa hyvä.

Grammar corner. This suffix pa above means nothing. It can be attched to any word for emphasis. I don't really know why it is there in the first place.

Lehmät on oikea. Noin satakaksikymmentä lehmät. Asun maatilalla.

Of course, the rest might be grammatically wrong, but I'm sure you can work out what I was trying to say. 8)

After the morning I had, I would have been quite happy to send a couple off to the karhut.

There are no karhu in New Zealand. I checked. It is like Australia, if it moves it is poisonous.

The worst we have here is white tailed spiders. They don't generally kill you, but they have a nasty necrotic bite.

I got bitten on the face once when gardening, and my face swelled so badly I had to drink through a straw for two days. The photos are impressive. Luckily there was no lasting damage, but now you understand my signature from the other day. 8)

Sorry but I am laughing. Straw... Russians and Finns drinking through a straw... no, it wouldn't work.

Well, when that's your only option for imbibing liquid, I'm pretty sure you'd do it if you had to.

I have to admit, tea through a straw was kind of weird. Gin and tonic worked much better.

Remember... some two years ago you asked me about Finnish musicians? This one came to my mind -- it is not originally Finnish, it has been published under the name Down By the River, Bruce Springsteen. But this version is easy to listen and the singer (Riki Sorsa) pronounces words the way they shoud be.

Worth listening.
