I'll tell you why Bernard Quatermass is better than the Prince of Persia.

You see, the Prince relies on a sword or a Freddy Kruger glove to take apart enemies.

Whereas Quatermass once managed to persuade an alien organism (albeit one with three humans absorbed into it) to commit suicide. No swords, no guns. Just sheer persuasive power and rhetoric.
