Maybe Moomin doesn't like waterskiing because it is too fast?

Shouldn't the groom be the 'best man' on the day?

Campin cat - I loved Pembrokeshire, but did you ever get to Snowdonia? Now that was beautiful. :D

Ummm..... It sounds familiar----but, if it was THAT memorable, you'd think I'd remember it, huh? LOL

North, mountains, spectacular views, locals that stop talking or switch to Welsh when you walk into the pub, icy icy lakes (swam in several, almost turned blue, back in the days when I was younger and braver) - sound familiar??

AH! Yes, YEs----YES!! ! I remember those mountains "telling" me, for one of the first times in my life, what the meaning of "awe" was!! (Another time was walking up a hill in Germany, and coming to a clearing in the trees, and looking-over to see the Alps!! ! OMG) Give me the sea and mountains and I'm as happy as a little pig in sh!t!! !

Also, I remember the people speaking Welsh, and asking someone what they were speaking. If I remember correctly, it's similar to Gaelic? I mean, some sounds, and whatnot??? I know a couple of words in Welsh: "Nos da" ("Good night"), and "Bore da" ("Good Morning"); (I like to collect languages, so-to-speak----or, I guess I should say, "bits" of languages. I tried to learn a couple of words in every country I visited.)

Don't they need to blink, though?

Yes, me too. :D

I believe that Welsh & Gaelic may be related, although I have no idea how closely. For someone who loves languages, I didn't pay much attention to those around me, I was much more interested in those from other countries.

@ Krabo, did you just say in one post that snakes "couldn't" close their eyes, and then in the next that they do when no one is watching? :P

I don't know, but it reminds me of the words from the poem......

"I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night" :)

Would it have been sold to someone else with far too much money?
