If it's scratched then the disc can be resurfaced, or so I heard anyway. Not sure how much that would cost. Have you tried cleaning the disc? Scratches would be visible.

$5 at my local video store. An actual resurfacer, to buy, is a couple of grand.

Don't you have a local video store or something? Ask them. To resurface the disc.

That doesn't always work, and I'd prefer a totally new disc.
