In 1951, !ike Todd, Elizabeth Taylor's husband gave her a diamond-and-ruby necklace.

He presented it to her during her daily swim, when she swam


over to the edge of their pool, to welcome him home from work.

I cannot find the price he paid for it sixty-four years ago, but at the auction of her jewels, following her deat, the necklace sold for three million, seven hundred seventy-eight thousand, five hundred dollars.

After Mike put it on her neck, at the edge of the pool, she swam laps, wearing it!

The Vincent Price film House of Wax, which was shot in 3D, was made by a director (André de Toth) with only one eye who was incapable of seeing the 3D effect.

Because his character has such a great hatred of dogs, people think that Martin Clunes hates dogs, IRL----when, if fact, he LOVES dogs, and one of his RL dogs, Mary, a cocker spaniel, had a cameo on his show, "Doc Martin". (It was the show where a young girl, with a dislocated shoulder, comes to see him, and he resets it, and she gets a HUGE crush on him.)

The late, great Peter Lorre was terrified of horses.

And.

He had made quite a name for himself in Germany before he left for a screen career in America, especially in a film called 'M', about a child-killer.

When Adolfo Hitler took over the reins of Germany,so to speak, he sent a letter to Mr. Lorre, requesting him to return, to be a star in Nazi Germany.

Mr. Lorre wrote a telegraph in response, informing Der Fuehrer that:

"Germany does not need another mass murderer".

There's an old Hollywood story (which might actually be true) that a friend took Director John Ford to see the movie, and afterwards he commented that he didn't understand what the big fuss was all about....
(Ford only had one eye)

When he left Germany, Peter Lorre did not have a good grasp of the English language. When he met with Director Alfred Hitchcock, he bluffed his way through the interview by laughing at most of Hitchcock's comments.

Peter Lorre was the first actor to play a James Bond villain as Le Chiffre in a TV version of Casino Royale (1954).

During the breakneck filming of "The Raven" Peter Lorre would ad lib some of his lines. Boris Karloff who never went 'off script' was put off by this. But Vincent Price (who was more a little hammy) was amused. One of Price's lines was "Will I ever see my Lenore again?" To which Peter ad libbed "how the hell should I know?"

Vincent Price's voiceover can be heard on Alice Cooper's first solo album, Welcome To My Nightmare.

As of November 2011, the series finale, "Goodbye Farewell, Amen," is still the most watched television broadcast in US History. It was watched by approximately 125 million viewers. The finale aired from 8pm - 11pm on February 28, 1983. At 11:03 pm, EST, New York City public works noted the highest water usage at one given time in the City's history. This was due to the fact that in the three minutes after the finale ended, approximately 77% of New York City flushed their toilets.

The series MASH lasted longer than the Korean War.
