One of my favorite characters in the whole thing actually; purely for being such a well-conceived, well-acted bad guy. A fitting adversary for our heroes.

I recently realized that the scene with Palpatine, Obi Wan and Anakin on Greivous' ship in the opening part of Episode III is supposed to mirror the scene with Luke, Palpatine and Vader in the Emperor's throne room aboard Death Star II in Episode VI, in almost every way. Dooku is the stand-in for Vader in Episode III. The emperor is testing the Skywalkers' devotion to the light side of the force. Anakin fails and falls, Luke passes and overcomes.
