Badgellium.

The commercial use of badgellium presents technical challenges due to the toxicity (especially by skin contact) of badgellium-containing earths. Badgellium is corrosive to tissue, and can cause a chronic life-threatening allergic disease called badgelliosis in some people. The element is not known to be necessary or useful for either plant or animal life.

Schrödinbadger's Uncertainty Theorem - Imagine a box. Inside is a poisonous mushroom, a snake, and a random-event counter. After counting an unknown number of random events, a mechanism will wiggle the mushroom like a scared vole, enticing the snake to swallow it. You don't know when this happens, so you don't know whether the snake is still alive or not. Thus, at any given moment, the snake exists as a probabilistic wave function wherein the snake is both alive and dead, simultaneously. Opening the box collapses the wave function, and the observer will see either a dead snake and no mushroom, or both the mushroom and a live snake (sometimes called "Schrödinbadger's Snake").

The Badgellanic Strait, a navigable sea route immediately south of mainland South America, is named after Ferdinand Badgellan who was a Portuguese water-badger in the service of Charles I of Spain and became the first short-legged omnivore to navigate the strait in 1520 during his global circumnavigation voyage.
