Kip, any chance there are railroads? Regular traffic, tickets and all?

I thought people would invent a country to improve things. Surely you wouldn't want traffic jams and tickets?!

What kind of world market sells kosher ramen, naan, weisswurst, pumpernickel, spotted dick, custard powder, Venco double salted licorice, Batchelors Mushy Peaz, smoked Latvian sprats, hot Russian mustard, Krakus Red Borscht Soup, instant tom yam soup, about 3000 different styles of ramune, Greek Zanae vine leaves stuffed with rice, Moroccan couscous, roland anchovies, Chicken Liver Paté De Foie, Kipper fillets (heh), a Chèvre Cheesemaking Kit, and RugenFisch Fried Herring...but not Surströmming?

I found a very interesting series of video clips in YouTube. There are at least 7 episodes called "Ovnis na Europa", Portuguese for "UFOs over Europe." Yes, the clips are from the Portuguese TV, but the original National Geography soundtrack is intact. There are Portuguese subtitles, though, and the more episodes I'm watching, the more I find myself reading those subtitles. It's strange how catchy they are.

I'm pretty sure he meant the episodes. I think they sound interesting, too.

I like reading subtitles on foreign TV shows and movies, too. For the last few months I've been watching Korean TV shows, many of which are normally shown with captions in Korean, but you can watch them online with English subtitles, too. After several months I learned how to read Korean, and now I've started learning the language proper.

Well, actually I did mean that the Portuguese subtitles are catchy. Of course, the episodes themselves too, but I can't get my eyes off the captions. Little by little, the Portuguese grammar is revealing its secrets.

Oh, whoops. Sorry, Krabo. You're the first person I've met that's ever described subtitles as "catchy". Do you think you'll start learning Portuguese at some point?

Hey, Mooms. My Korean's progressing slowly but I'm doing okay. Right now I'm at the level of "this book is good" (이책 좋아요.), "that is not a camera, it is a mobile phone" (그거 카메라 아니에요. 핸드폰 이에요.), etc. So yeah, looooong way to go. How are you doing with your languages?

Seriously though, Italian is coming along well, I've just got to spend a lot more time watching TV shows / listening to stuff to actually get more confidence, rather than my perpetual 'study' habit.

I am taking a different approach with Finnish. I am working on a Memrise course to jumpstart my vocabulary, and then I shall go back to my lessons. It's already paying off in me recognising a lot of words and being able to make a decent guess at the meaning of the sentence. I'm also starting to watch Finnish stuff really early on. I'll get there one day.

I am just so proud of myself now, because after years of putting down and picking up languages on and off, finally for the last four months or so I have been studying consistently, which is a huge achievement for me.
