The novel 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' was written for and about Marilyn Monroe by her good friend, Truman Capote.

She wanted/expected to play the lead in the film, but Audrey Hepburn got it......Marilyn was devastated.....it was her story, after all.

The lead role in'My fair Lady' was expected to be played by Julie Andrews, who had played Eliza Dolittle on

Broadway for a couple of years.

Audrey Hepburn got it.

She had thought that Julie should play the role instead of herself, but the studio was NOT going to risk their

blockbuster on an unknown.

And besides, Elizabeth Taylor wanted it, and that is supposedly why Audrey decided to take the job........I cannot

really see anyone else in either of those roles but Audrey.

Marlene Dietrich.

Russell Crowe learned to play violin for Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World so that his character's playing would appear and sound authentic. He later claimed it was the hardest thing he'd ever had to do for a film.

Jory was right.

I want to post some trivia regarding Anita Page and Joan Crawford, but it is a bit 'adult'........

Well, how "graphic" is it? We've got kids on here----like 13 years old----maybe, if you're not too "specific".....

Cecil Beaton, the talented photographer and designer, left many letters and diaries detailing his opinions on

everyone he ever photographed, knew, or met.....which was Everyone who was Anyone!

Who did he describe as having 'Eyes like aquamarines, and a head shaped like a pineapple....'?

Marlon Brando threatened to quit Apocalypse Now before filming began; director Francis Ford Coppola's choices for his replacement, if it came to that, were Al Pacino, Robert Redford, and Jack Nicholson.
