Play a board game such as chess or play a sport?

Playing tennis I used to like a lot but playing a board game like chess sounds good at present.

Staying up late, sleep and start the next day a little later or more the early nights and early rises type of chap/chica?

I go to bed as late as I am able to usually. I don't really enjoy sleeping.

Paperback or hardback?

Late night, late morning start seems to be more the norm at the moment.

Spectacles, contact lenses or neither?

(I can fix this)

Neither. Last time I got my eyes tested, they were describded as "perfect".

Fiction or Non-fiction?

Depends on the work, I reckon. Made the stupid mistake p/m 5 years ago to buy an 'awesome' book (philosophy) in paperback while I had the choice to go for the hardback version. Okay, it was a €20 difference but the one I have, well, doesn't look cute and fresh no more.

A 'one time only read'-book like a nouvelle f/i.... um, paperback is fine, imo.

Um, bugger, too late again.... but @ Tallyman; non-fiction here mostly but believable and 'catchy' fiction I'm okay with too. (far fetched stuff.... no)

Classic white. Clean and simple.

Tidy desk I go berserk if I'm cluttered.

Living a safe distance from the edge but where I can look over it

I'm more at home in a forested area
