BBCode extensions and Firefox

I have just installed some firefox extensions involving BBCode and I have no idea how they work. I can't seem to get the BBCode toolbar to show; only two of the three extensions seems to do anything.
I'm using one now and it seems okay, but still why one doesn't work on either computer seems to say that that extension is smelly.
