At the time of Jason Miller's death, he was working on a play about Jackie Gleason.

With the upcoming James Bond movie Spectre set for release this November, some facts about the longest running film franchise.

Peter Jackson was considered to direct The World Is Not Enough.

Steven Spielberg has expressed interest in directing a Bond movie over the years, but has been turned down repeatedly by the studio {MGM/Sony}.

Timothy Dalton thought himself too young to play Bond, turned down the role twice, before being cast in 1986 for The Living Daylights.

Pierce Brosnan was the frontrunner for The Living Daylights, but had to be committed to starring in a similar spy series, NBC's Remington Steele.

In 1994, Liam Neeson was considered for the role, but wasn't interested in action movies at the time.

Roger Moore was considered for On Her Majesty's Secret Service, but did not want to be viewed as the actor who replaced Sean Connery.

At one point, Quentin Tarantino wanted to direct Casino Royale, but wouldn't direct it without
Pierce Brosnan as Bond.

When Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation is released on July 31st, Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames will be the only actors who have appeared in all five movies.

Stephen Boyd was hired to portray Antony in the 1960 film 'Cleopatra', but delays caused him to drop out of the production.

He was replaced by, of course, Richard Burton.

I had not realized, but Marilyn Monroe's birthday was June first...

She would have been eighty-nine years old!!

I was stunned to read that she had died fifty-three years ago.....

And the circumstances of her death are still being written about in articles and entire books are still being published

about her tragic life....

R.I.P., Marilyn....I hope that you have finally found the happiness you wanted; or, at least, freedom from the sadness that seemed such a part of you.

"A Few Good Men"

The original play was inspired by an actual Code Red at Guantanamo Bay. Lance Corporal David Cox and 9 other enlisted men tied up a fellow Marine and severely beat him, for snitching to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Cox was acquitted and later Honorably Discharged. In 1994, David Cox mysteriously vanished, and his bullet-riddled body was found three months later. His murder remains unsolved.

But what happened to the Marine who was assaulted?

He recovered.

I am glad that he survived...after all, he did the right thing.

Hollywood Trivia....

In Marilyn's last completed film,'The Misfits', she walked from the courthouse where her divorce had been finalized,

onto a bridge, and started to toss her wedding band into the river.

She changed her mind, and walked away.

Well, the bridge does exist in Reno, Nevada, is 110 years old, and is being torn down for financial reasons.

Which annoys me.

The longest title in film history is Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride of the Return of the Revenge of the Terror of the Attack of the Evil, Mutant, Alien, Flesh Eating, Hellbound, Zombified Living Dead, Part 2: In Shocking 2-D.

Linda Hamilton, Elizabeth Perkins and Helen Hunt read for the part of Joanne Galloway. I can't see anybody but Demi Moore playing this part----I think she knocked it out of the park!!

I'm really stuck on this movie, right now, cuz I just saw it again, today----for the hundred-millionth time!! LOL It's one of my all-time favorite movies.....

Cary Elwes was offered the lead role in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and turned it down. He later starred in the spoof Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

When making his own version of Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe, Ridley Scott called Elwes the best Robin Hood he had ever seen.
