Interesting to me anyway, and just came up today in conversation: according to Deuteronomy, every 50 years (called the Jubilee year) property reverted back to the ownership of the descendants of those to whom it was originally allocated when Joshua designated territory to each tribe. Ever after the land was inalienable from its ancestral bloodline, so if a poor man had to sell his land he was to sell it for a prorated price according to the number of years left until the Jubilee.
