Well, it depends what you mean by "intensive". An intensively managed small farm can be very sustainable, esp. if both animals and plants are raised. Big old monocropping industrial ag, chicken factories, that kind of thing is just plain nasty.

The next poster is nostalgic for a time before his or her own personal memory.
