I can almost match that, though. One of my professors likes to assign problem sets based on material he hasn't covered yet (he assigns it to be due somewhere around the middle of the unit, but has stuff on it related to parts we don't cover until near the end of the unit). And sometimes bases it on stuff that's not even a part of the course.

Still, though, 6 hours with a study group? You're more dedicated than I am...when I reach anywhere near that point I give up and make up nonsensical stuff to put on it. Oddly, it actually gets me full marks sometimes :?

Same here. We get a problem set for each class every week, and we don't cover all the material until sometime around the night before it is due. The thing is, the problems on there are always really complicated, so it is nearly impossible to do an entire problem set on your own.

(Such is academic life at MIT...)

Nice to know it's not just UofT. It's ironic that they try to design the problem sets to prevent cheating, yet it's because they make them so hard that everybody has to copy off of everybody else...

Ah well, only a few more months left, and then I'm finished with these forever.

At MIT, the problem sets are designed to be worked on together, not individually. :lol:
It's just the spirit of the school.

1. At any two instants of time, there are two sets of descriptions A and B of the universe that correspond to each of the two instants.
2. For any two sets of descriptions A and B of the universe at two instants of time, the coupling of the laws of nature (L) with A results in B.
