Hey, what if I make an enlarged version of the Mr. Green smiley and start using it as avvy? It would be counted as credits, wouldn't it?

Yes, it would count for 5 credits. However, that would not make up for the 5000 credits you just lost by double posting.

Why not start a giant quote pyramid?
I'm on it!
Excellent!
So... What do we talk about in here?
Anything will do, I suppose.
Quote-ceptions!
Rotaxane!
Is it fish-shaped and on fire?
Answer: it depends: standard answer!
Not sure if fish-shaped and on fire... or fish-shaped but not on fire... or not fish-shaped but on fire... or neither fish-shaped nor on fire.
Fish-shaped: 1-, on fire: -1; simplification: {11,10,01,00}
I see what you did there!
Yes, I saw to it that I would see that you saw what I did there, see?
Yo dawg...
Yes. Yes I do see.
In case you were wondering, I do use plenty of recursion in face-to-face conversations as well.
It takes most people (including me) a few seconds before they can figure out what you mean, but it's good brain exercise, no?
It helps intentionally to regress to a monotone when using it.
http://i1.theportalwiki.net/img/3/32/GLaDOS_10_part1_entry-3.wav
You could have simply put the link on a new line.
But that would have broken the pattern! There, now it's fixed.
You mean this mess of code?
Code:
[quote of everything above]
I mean, none of the other replies started with a skipped line.
This is rather funny in an odd sort of way.
I wonder if the words will start to cut off at the beginning of the quote pyramid as we keep nesting the quotes.
It should be obvious when it happens because of the sudden unclosed quote tags.
On another note (D#), this is starting to look like a parabola.
C + G
I will be back in a few hours. I'm going out for a walk in the park.
In that case, I claim victory for the next few hours!
http://i1.theportalwiki.net/img/3/30/Turret_turretlaunched05.wav
Yes I do!
You do realize that said "see you soon"....?
I thought it said, "no you don't," but that probably comes from keeping the speakers too close to muted.
Vertical compression!
Horizontal yields funnier results.
Yes it does. Now the nested boxes no longer look like a parabola. :(
How about now?
It's slightly better. To find out exactly how much it approximates a parabola, though, we'd have to perform a quadratic regression.
If you zoom out a lot, it looks more like a piece of a hyperbola.
Wow, you're right. My scrolling muscles are getting tired. Perhaps I should switch my mouse's scroll wheel to smooth scrolling.
Perhaps!?
I  my Logitech M705!
Mine, however, is ambidexterous!
I'm ambidextrous! [Not really. I was born left-handed, and my parents made me use my right hand to write and eat. The transition was surprisingly easy for me. I can still write with my left hand, although I'm a bit slow, but I draw with my left hand exclusively.]
Maybe you should try making several drawings with each hand and compare the results.

I wonder how practical it would be to test my handedness through a DNA test... :chin:
I will [actually] try that! That seems interesting.
Note: savant-made sketches generally involve almost exclusive right-brain use (replicated in normal people by shutting down the left hemisphere electronically).
The results are in, and the pictures' qualities look surprisingly similar. The handwriting, though, does not. [Feel free to delete the image from the quote pyramid when you reply.][image]
It is interesting to see the differences. Extending that, I wonder if there really is a propensity for the left-handed (for drawing, at any rate below c) to draw more or better.
I'm wondering that too. But given the plasticity of the brain, I would guess that any difference that is present can be attributed to mere chance (p>0.05).

Anyways, my left hand seems pretty challenged, but not as challenged as the average right-handed person, when it comes to writing. With my right hand drawing, the lines are clearly less steady, although the basic anatomy and structure are still correct.
Ever tried writing in both directions at once?
It's also surprisingly easy. Maybe I am ambidextrous? :chin:
It neither confirms nor denies that. Try spinning one foot either clockwise or counterclockwise and spin the other without attention to direction.
Spoiler wrote:
(Trying to execute various things, such as writing, in the same direction at once will likely be more difficult than doing mirrored movements. I presume this has something to do with how memories are mapped on different sides.
8O Is it wrong that I moved both of my feet clockwise?
Was it easier to do them in opposite directions or in the same direction? After that, try spinning one leg in one direction again and spinning the hand on the same side one direction followed by the other.
You're right; it is easier in opposite directions. I guess my feet were trying to be hipster.
:?:
"Spinning in the opposite direction is too mainstream. I'm spinning in the same direction."
 Loading plan: I.I.
Okay... *nervous laugh*
Induced Insomnia.

Kevin's avatar looks like hyperlexian's when scrolled by very fast o.O
It does? I'm not seeing it.
I mean, if I referenced a Portal song and began a variation, it would have interesting effects.
Nah, I am not that mean. Or am I?
Well, I'd force myself to ignore it, as tempting as that might seem.
I am reminded of the MacGuffin, "The Orange Symphony."
I have no idea what that is! Yay!
O is for Orange Symphony wrote:

That's... a VERY interesting concept, actually. :o
It sounds like something GLaDOS would make For Science!.

AHA! Let the giant pyramid of DOOM roll on!
(Pyramids can roll?)
It is possible to send a PM to oneself. It is possible to put an empty quote tag in a PM to oneself. Continue with the most logical progression and the fact that PM's not reported are not seen by anyone else...

There's your car? :?
"There you are."
Friend Computer is still a better match for GLaDOS. Or rather, is closer to the general tendencies of GLaDOS. I wonder if those still alive already made a GLaW7
:?:
Genetic Lifeform and Windows 7.
Then GLaDOS would probably say: http://i1.theportalwiki.net/img/3/30/GL ... ance16.wav
How goes the astronomy?
Missing dependency: QuickTime 3
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
It was already on the way ETA 0001
It's ironic that Quicktime takes so long to start.
I think I accidentally ran the installer twice.
You accidentally the installer?! 8O
But it only asked whether I wanted Pro once, so it was an inefficient installer. As for the program itself, I think I still prefer Stellarium (but will now take an interest in mental calculation of eclipses).
I guess it's a matter of taste. SNB is easier to use in my opinion, but I think it's because I'm used to it.
I might begin with optimizing mental multiplication first, what with how the Saros series works... :chin:
There we go!
Hooray! Thanks, Ten! :D
That last post had an unnecessary

was now!
I don't have to do government notes anymore! YAAAAY!
Why are you celebrating? Now we really (double normal stress on first syllable) have to study for The Test! 8O [ ]
You broke it again! *fixes pyramid* I mean chapter notes. I want to get them out of the way so that I can start comprehensive study for the AP exam.
'Tis amazing what one can learn to do from a webcomic.

Vidi vidi vidi!
...Vici?
Qvid non?
This is the part where I say, "je ne comprends pas!" :P
Why not? [By the end of FR1, it degraded to, "j'ai ne compond pas," for a lot of the class. ]
8O
Certainly you know what, "je ne sais quoi," means. Qvid non? Why not?
I haven't forgotten that much of French.
What does, "je ne sais quoi mean?" Cue the quasi-literal translation, "I don't know, what?"
Yes, in French, it means "I don't know what" when interpreted literally. In English, it means a quality that cannot be described.
*Ahem* comma *ahem* [I was hoping to cause a dialogue like that to unfold here. ]
*wails* But there wasn't a comma in the original French version!
And that is why it is quasi-literal.
 []
Details matter. Details energy too.
icwatudidthar^2! [You decide how the ! is interpreted.] Also, [Your college here]>Harvard^Yale!
But alas, unless someone wished to cause a rivalry, it would be impossible to know the relation to MIT. [Hint: SW corner of the continental US]
UCSD?
I wonder how much it would take to create a rivalry... :chin: Maybe the work should be focused on making the students here competent enough to have a rivalry!
MIT does have an intense rivalry with Harvard. I don't blame them. Same city, [almost] same prestige.
Oh no! Look what's happened to the inner parts of the quote pyramid! 8O
Terminate?
NEVER!! !! !!1!11!! !!!11!ONE!! ! [Unless you want to.]
Perpetuating. If only WP gave quotes timestamps...
This will be a WP event to remember!
We have probably just made history!
And, of course, broke the system of nested quotes.
"What if we piled quotes within quotes A LOT?"
*1 day later*
"Ohhhhhhhh..."
At which page did the quoting begin to break down?
The previous page.
5th quote from the bottom?
The post in question was by me. Please, PLEASE don't make me scroll through those pages again. My eyes are hurting enough already.
Terminamus oculis? (Terminate for eyes?)
Maybe just for tonight. I have to ACTIVATE SLEEP MODE soon, anyways.
G'night...
G'night!
Goodbye, quote pyramid. (Don't think I won't be bookmarking this page to see the day we made WP HISTORY!! !! !!)
Someone will probably come along and do worse.
