I'm sure you'll knock their socks off withg your awesome novel!
I write too, but fantasy/sci-fi of an original type aimed at intermediate age children (8-12) which no agent has expressed interest as yet, except one that wanted me to pay over 3000 pounds to have it published by them, which is well over R30 000 in our currency which I can't afford. I need a publisher that will accept the risk and carry the publishing and marketing costs!
Winning here is such a great experience. Saki and I can share the laurels of success.

So true!

I write middle grade fantasy (which is aimed at ages 7-12)

That's my favorite age group - I write middle grade and I read it too

I have yet to finish a novel, but I think this is "the one," and I'm finally in a point in my progression as a writer that I have what it takes to finish a novel. This is definitely the story I've put the most work into! I've been world-building for 2 years now, character profiling for around three months (though I've had the basics for my characters since I started world-building), and I have my plot outline finished

I'm still working on the maps, but I have enough done for now. It's a lot of work, writing a book - but totally worth it
