Did you know that Bronte seems of Norse origin?

Did you know the family name was Brunty, but Patrick changed it to Brontë while studying Theology at Cambridge, and that there are no direct descendants to his immediate family?

Was the change made for literary reasons?

Did you know he was the eldest of ten children born in a very poor, one room cottage in Drumballyroney and his education was sponsored at St. John's (Cambridge) so he wanted to make a new name for himself?

Do you know that I am glad he was able to transcend his origins?

Did you know he never returned to Ireland, and that I forgot to mention the word "bronte" (meaning thunder) is actually Greek and not Norse?

Would anyone like some fresh baked sugar cookies from my grandmother's 1931 recipe?

Did you know you may have made a brilliant discovery on the WH thread?

Have you got the recipe for us, since you can't send us any cookies as a file attachment?

If Emily knew about them, would she have written a novel about a lonely brontosaurus (thunder lizard)? :D

Isabella: could you make your "discovery" into a journal article?

Do you know I thank you for that encouragement and that I could publish it with more research, if I so desired?

Would you believe that the theory has been discredited for quite some time, because of people's blatant miscalculation of gestation cycles (lol)?

Did you know that scholars say that Cathy must have been conceived in August, at which time Heathcliff was absent, but that this calculation isn't accurate?

Did you know critics also say that Cathy was too fair to be Heathcliff's child? But, would you believe I notice that Linton (his rightful child) was even more fair than Cathy?

Do you know I really could use a new hobby? 8)

Do you know that I don't believe "Wuthering Heights" is a bad hobby at all?

Was Emily scared of heights?
