You've got to watch those Finnish! :P

Sylkat, you know so many interesting things, where do you get them from (if it's not a secret)?

I was reading Thor Heyerdahl and Victor W. Von Hagen when I was twelve.

Mr. (Dr.?) Heyerdahl was the first to live among the Easter Island people, learn their language, respect them as people, and actually listen to what they had to say about their history and beliefs and traditions.

His book about them is called Aku Aku.....a classic, really.

I have no idea what 'That Finn' thought he was going to do with that ear.

You need a historian to chronicle the history of Moomin Valley.

The name of Yoda's (from Star Wars) race or home world is NEVER mentioned in any of the Star Wars canon, whether in film, print, or media. He is officially said to be of a "species unknown".

There's a museum in Finland which is open to the public only one day each year. It is Marshall Mannerheim's pullman car and it is open on his birthday, June the 4th. Like today.

Oldest unchanged flag in history: Denmark's. It has remained the same since the 13th century.

The Wolf of Wall Street set a new record: It used the "F" word 569 times, more than any non-pornographic film.

Greek temples were originally painted in bright colors. Over time, they have been bleached white.

The Spirit of de Grisogono is the largest black diamond in the world.

Cut in an unusual 'Old Mughul' style, it weighs 312 carats.

It is set into a white gold ring which is pretty much covered by the 702 white diamonds on it.

In the Durango desert, in Mexico, there's a creepy spot called the "Zone of Silence." You can't pick up clear TV or radio signals. And locals say fireballs sometimes appear in the sky. 8O

i'd like to go there.

Siamese cats really are from Siam (now Thailand). In ancient days, they guarded the temple when a person of high rank died; the cat was considered a receptacle for the dead person's soul.
